Lovely people, very accomodating of my bike, pub is cheap and nice and the guy running the place is really nice, and works bloody hard. Whoever owns the hostel needs to keep that guy on he's brilliant.

Also they've renovated so there's no mould and locks on doors and whatnot so that's past reviews from others are invalid now!

We stayed for one night and paid around â‚Ŧ30 (ÂŖ25) per person in a mixed dormitory right next to the pub..
We avoided using the kitchen and toilets as much as possible as everything was very dirty and sticky. We did shower as we had been cycling all day. Mouldy ceilings and a broken floor greeted us here.
All in all the place felt quite lost.

To the owners: Better do some decent cleaning instead of giving misogynistic and patronising answers! Lowering prices would also be fair and please stop speaking on behalf of all backpackers.. that's clearly not what you are.

Never again!

I just want to say what a warm and accomodating experience I had at this hostel. Considering the price is only about ÂŖ25, this was an absolute find. I was considering camping on Dover cliffs before my ferry, but found this place and I'm so impressed with the value for money. 100% recommend if you are wanting a simple roof over you head with some great service and welcoming staff.

I have to say this was probably my favorite hostel ever. Absolutely wonderful people work here. Super helpful, super friendly. Usually you check in at a hostel you are given a key and that's it. Here, the owner showed us around, gave us a little local history and history on the Dover Castle and cliffs which were directly behind the hostel. They have a wonderful back deck so we ordered some dinner , had it delivered and ate out on the deck. We spent the rest of the night downstairs at the pub with the friendliest people ever ( workers, locals, other guests) If we are ever back in Dover, this is the only place I would stay! I only wish we were there longer, this is exactly what I look for in a hostel experience. If you want something sterile and spotless where you don't meet anyone and don't get to know the area or the locals at all, go spend 10x as much and stay in a hotel. If you want reasonable accommodations where you are made to feel like you are staying with old friends, stay here.

Do not recommend for female travelers, solo or otherwise.
Not clean or safe.

I'm sure the people are nice enough but I did not stick around long enough to find out.

I've stayed in mixed dorms in hostels all over the world, and have never had my instincts screaming at me to get out so loudly.

Save yourself some money and stress and just book a hotel in the first place, instead of panic booking something last minute once you're already in town.

We were greeted by a nice woman that showed us around, it was a relaxed atmosphere and fringe people around. The bar you go through had a nice atmosphere as well and was not to loud later in the evening. The kitchen and showers could be cleaner but we were informed that they were reorganising and in a process of cleaning out.

We had a really great time, a very warm welcome and great hospitality ! Location is near the ferry (5min) and not so far from the train station, town is only a few minutes far by foot. They gave us advice on what we could do nearby.
People there are super kind and chill, it's a really relaxing/good vibes place:)
