This boat trip is great value for money at £5 per person for 20 minutes. I had a very relaxing and enjoyable trip and this boat is always full so proves very popular with tourists. I really enjoyed the mixture of sea shanties and commentary about Captain Cook's life and his ship the endeavour, which this boat is a replica of. The views when out to sea are beautiful too.

Worth every penny. We did the 6pm hour trip to Sandsend and back. £10. Good recorded historical commentary and shanty songs. Oh and a bit of abba on way back! Crew were very friendly. We had perfect weather and seas, which made the trip even more beautiful. Seeing Whitby and the Abbey from the sea is amazing. Watch out for the crocodile, once you see it you can’t unsee it…. Fabulous

For £5? On an Endeavour replica out to sea? You'd be mad to miss out. The ship is very stable so it doesn't roll around too much on the sea, and there were plenty of opportunities to take photos. The staff could have been a little more personable, there wasn't much chat or interaction, but for the experience, hands down great value and not to be missed. There's also an educational voice over and our trip actually ran over by several minutes. Great fun, everyone should try it once.

Admittedly not the clearest day for a boat trip so some cloudy photos but this was such a good activity!
We were pleasantly surprised at the price (£4 each) and the staff were really friendly.

The boat goes out for about 30 minutes or so and there’s lots of information about Captain Cooks adventures to listen to, it was really interesting to learn about life on a ship! And there’s lots of songs too.

The children thought they were on a real pirate ship and we all had a great time. Highly recommended.

Stayed in Whitby 6th Sept & Really wanted to go on a boat in Whitby and we kept putting it off. But this time boyfriend promised to take me on one.

There was a few boat tours along the harbour so whilst eating some ice cream a gent at bark endeavour stand mentioned ”isn’t it about time you take your lady on a lovely boat ride.” 😃 it’s like this gent knew jacks promise to me to take a boat trip. Plus the boat was so nice I felt like we chose the better boat ride. It’s the last boat tour facing the amusement arcade.

Really nice staff.

We came back 10 minutes later to get the next trip.

Really good experience, with an antenna stating the history of the endeavour even though the boat we was on, was a smaller replica to the main endeavour. The antenna also played some sea chants. I still have the chant of “stormy olde weather” still playing in my head when I think of Whitby.

i Don’t have any kids but with the kids that was already on the boat you could tell they enjoyed the ride Especially with the boat going over the waves 🌊.

I’ve uploaded some videos and pictures.

The Reviewer IanWestYorks who has given The Bark Endeavour a 1 scoring has got confused with the other Endeavour boat that holds the orlop cafe/restaurant just of the Endeavour Wharf Car Park. It was the first Endeavour boat we saw too, when parking in this car park. Which this review is NOT for the Endeavour Orlop Cafe/Restaurant it’s for the actual boat trip.

However for the Bark Endeavour boat ride, you have to walk passed Bridge st upto the pleasureland amusements which the stand for Bark Endeavour boat trip is to your right.

This is a really interesting experience. Go out beyond the harbour on a 40 percent reduced size boat based on the original ship Endeavour. It was made by local craftsmen and is a trip not to be missed especially as it is only £3.50 for the journey. It was somewhat choppy when we went out which made me think off how they traveled the oceans in these things and how bad it must have been. Whitby looks so different from the sea and the cliffs from the harbour to the Spa look like a crocodile. No. Really. I didn't believe it till I saw it.

What a lovely little trip.
Been on twice now and was lucky enough to be blessed with a visit from some dolphins.
There’s some sea shanties playing in the background to add to the ambiance. There’s great views from the bay with arty photo opportunities through the rigging.
