Visited the Cavern on 22nd December with my husband. It was an exciting tour with our guide Zack who was 15 years old. He did an amazing job explaining the history and features of the cavern. His knowledge is impressive for someone his age! He made the tour both fun and informative. His storytelling kept us engaged the entire time. Highly recommended.

Loved it! The boat ride through to the cavern was great. Ian was really funny, plenty of 'da dum' jokes that had us all groaning!
It would have been good if there had been some information told to us about the cavern, what we were looking at etc. We had to ask questions to find anything out.
Amazing to see the 1800's 'graffiti' from the miners on the cavern walls!

200m below the surface (and 106 steps down) you jump into a motorised boat that transports you down the flooded tunnel whilst being entertained and informed by your guide. We enjoyed the humour and facts by our guide which made the tour much more interesting. At the end of the tunnel we reach the Cavern which is a good photo opportunity as well as seeing the 'Bottomless Pit'. We went as a couple and enjoyed it, although came away feeling it was slightly overpriced - especially with the additional parking fee.

Dont go if you don't like confined spaces. I'm 6ft 2 and had to lower my head along the boat ride through the old lead mine.
Great tour guide, very funny and knowledgeable, the information was really interesting.
Very cold so make sure you wrap up

Easy to find with parking across the road. Toilet facility is available for a charge of 50p (token to be bought from the souvenir shop across the road). Parking charge is £6 for 4 hours with a £2.50 refund voucher redeemable in the Gift Shop for Cavern ticketholders. The tickets for the cavern is a bit pricey. £20 online for adults and £15 for children aged 5-15. After wearing a helmet, there are 106 steps to go down. Lightning is present. At the bottom of the steps a boat awaits you. The guide sits towards the front of the boat. It’s not easy to hear the commentary if seated at the other end of the boat so best to sit in the front. It’s a bit cool so a fleece would be good. The passage is quite narrow and can feel claustrophobic. The boat takes you to a large cavern where the bottomless pit can be seen from. Those with knee issues may find it difficult to climb the 106 steps back. Overall, a unique experience.
