Just back from a fantastic 2 week trip to China, organised and booked with The China Travel Company. They are extremely helpful and friendly, and they have excellent local knowledge to help us put together a great itinerary. They sorted all the transfers and train connections, and all the accommodation they recommended was excellent. We were on a "Self-Guided" tour, with some optional tours booked with their guides, all of which were really good and informative. We felt we had just the right amount of assistance and yet still some independence to explore. Would highly recommend them!!

What a fantastic company. Sorted out a 3 week trip to China for me and my wife and were very helpful, quick responding and efficient. My husband and I choose The China Travel Company to arrange our honeymoon in October 2018 and we were just blown away by the excellent service we received. The trip was amazing, we saw so much of China in the 3 weeks we were there and we had private guides with us every step of the way. When we had to make changes last minute, Phil and Chris were quick to help and we never had to worry about anything. If you are considering China, these are the guys to go to - they've lived there, they can give you expert and honest advice and they will even provide you with a personalised guide book so you can read up on everything before you go. Highly recommended!

Just finished a great trip to China with The China Travel Company. They are a small, family run independent company based in UK and put together a great tailor made itinerary for us. They were really helpful, answering all my questions from the serious to the banal (Thank you Phil!) They also put together a fabulous trip guidebook which was immensely helpful.

On the trip itself, all the arrangements worked very smoothly. The hotels were very good. All the guides were excellent. They were on time, helped with our bags, took our photos, and answered all our questions.

The trip was only for a week, but we managed to see and do so much, it felt a lot longer. We felt that the self guided trip with some organised day trips gave us the best of both worlds, taking the stress away about the transfers and the bigger attractions whilst giving us the freedom to explore on our own. We enjoyed our trip so much, we are already thinking of going back next year.

The Silk Road Tour.

I cannot recommend the China travel company highly enough.

I had an amazing holiday in June 2017 travelling the Silk Road from Urumqi down to Beijing… Phil and his team tailor made the itinerary to my requirements, expertly advising me on my trip to get the best out of my time in China; for example, recommending a stay at Pingyao (a beautiful walled city from the Ming Dynasty rather than an extra day in Xi’ian). I took his advice and upon visiting Pingyao it was like stepping back a couple of centuries (but with an air-conditioned hotel!). Basically, they know their stuff and China inside out.

All my transits from city to city were well planned to get the most amount of time in each place. My lovely guides and drivers were very knowledgeable and friendly and were keen to go above and beyond to ensure my trip was memorable, I felt very well taken care of every step of the way yet also had the freedom to explore independently, it really was the best of both worlds.

The accommodations and suggested excursions were also excellent with real care taken to ensure comfort, location and whenever possible a taste of real China.

The China travel company provide the independent traveller with the means to strike out on their own but with the safety net of assistance along the way, their trips are ideal for people that want to go it alone but not totally alone like me!

If you have always had a hankering to visit China and to go off the well-trodden tourist routes then Heads East is the company to book with. I am already planning my next trip with them (Nepal!) as I know I will be safe hands!

We can highly recommend Chris Stanley and The China Travel Company who were super efficient and helpful in putting together an itinerary to fulfil our long held ambition to visit the amazing country that China is. Nothing was too much trouble and the information given beforehand and our own travel guide was second to none! Highly recommended to anyone who wants to travel to China having the flexibility of a private tour that suits your requirements but with the security of backup and contacts all the way, rather than being dragged around in a huge group! Tour guides were excellent and most hotels too. The trains in China are a fantastic way to see China and are on time, clean and well run. We visited Beijing, Pingyao, Xian, Chengdu, Guilin, Yangshao, Guangzhou and finished in Hong Kong. An amazing trip we shall never forget and we are so glad that we opted to book with The China Travel Company!
