Recently became homeless. As a resident of Hastings I really must protest at the state of temp accommodation in this town. It is filthy, disgusting, demoralising & degrading. I have never experienced anything like this in my life before. Hastings Council need to take a close look how they treat their residents. I must give 1 star to proceed but do so very reluctantly.

My family are from Hastings. I visited in September 2024, having last flown here in 1998. Shocked and disgusted by the disrepair of buildings and attractions. The weeds along the roads and curbs are inexcusable and evident of a municipal government that no longer has any pride. The old town was friendly and felt safe. The new town was a completely different story as the sun went down. Homelessness is a problem with every town/city, but to permit the aggressive, loud and obnoxious behaviors of the same individuals needs to be curbed. We visited other locations in England and it is disappointing to hear others say " why would anyone visit Hastings". Unfortunately they are right and you should be ashamed for doing nothing. I for one will never return and thankfully my parents never have to see this. Please, Please, do something positive.

The roads are already a mess with potholes everywhere, but to make matters worse, the bin collection idiots seems to operate with little or no care leaving bins scattered randomly and broken glass all over the place. It’s not too much to ask for a bit of attention to detail, is it?

Worst served, serving and price in England.
We visit last week business, people, merchants too overhead of the normal, angry with tourist. 30 % of business closed, and the remaining 70% half of that provided bad services in many ways.
Gastronomy is very poor.
In all town We could find a place serving fish and smashed potatoes, only chips and in many places the aromatic old frying oil is disgusting.
Public transport too expensive, for 7 min ride £2.50 plus one way ticket.
But is true. In all town the atmosphere is to tense. Please relax. Prices 20% higher than London.

Don't visit Hastings unless you want to destroy your car's suspension. The worst condition roads I've ever come across. You won't see any scenery around you because you can't risk hitting a pot hole.

Went to find out about a supply of Pink Recycling sacks as not had any delivered for 3 years!. There was a bit of a queue but managed to catch another member of staff who kindly helped. Also seems.younhave to complain to Biffa rather than the council about these things but they do carry a supply if you need some

Absolutely appalling service.. No one answers the phone, no contact numbers for different departments, we are trying to trace an invoice we believe was sent to us, however the council insist on using the incorrect postal address for our property. If we don't pay the invoice they will be all over us in a flash.... Until we get the invoice we can't pay as we need the number. On this and so many other issues they are a really rubbish council AND don't blame Covid, it didn't send out the letter or stop answering phones...
