First visit and it won't be the last. What a beautiful place. It may seem expensive but it is worth every penny. The hour long guided tour was extremely informative and the rooms were awe inspiring. Photos can be taken in the house which is unusual. Incredible art work and sculpture. The cafe was unique. Lovely old books on the tables and an excellent menu and delicious food. The grounds were peaceful. A lovely day out.

Absolutely amazing day out , well worth the money we spent 5 hours here and could of stayed longer. the house is gorgeous with so many interesting things, and the guides are lovley and super helpful, offering information on everything and showing us the most treasured pieces. the gardens well I have no words Absolutely stunning and humongous. There is a cafe we juat had coffee at £4.25 a cup ,but lots of people were eating . There is a massive play park for the kids aswell and a huge car park I loved this place will defo go back

Wilton house is a must visit, a beautiful house set in beautiful grounds and a Palladian Bridge over the River Nagger which flows through the estate. From it's original origins of a Medieval Nunnery until the dissolution of monasteries when Henry V111 gave it to the 1st Earl and Wilton House was born. The house is steeped in british history including being used as Southern Command HQ in the planning of Operation Overlord.
Plenty of parking and a nice cafe is also available.

Both house and gardens are well worth a long visit. Guides in the house are generally excellent, and the art collection (especially the paintings) is superb. Cafe is one of the best, and be sure not to miss the intro film (with Anna Massey). It's a bit dated, but the best of its type, and gives a great context to appreciating the house. Do read the concession details thoroughly, as while tickets are not cheap, there are many discounts to be had.

Beautifully situated in huge gardens . House tour is well worth the money giving lots of information. The classic car exhibition is great and the gardens are ok Ely whether just to sit & enjoy or walk around. Cafe is nicely situated and the food is good and varied, staff are very pleasant.

Fantastic guided tour of the house. The guide was super informative and engaged well with the kids. Lots grand sculptures and an impressive art collection to look at. Also had a huge adventure park in the gardens. Historic house members enter free. Has a big car park free of charge.

Fascinating guided tour of Wilton House and great to spend an hour or so walking the grounds including the river, the woodland walk and the gardens while waiting for our tour time slot. There's also a car collection and film about the history of the house and the Pembroke family and visitors to Wilton House including kings and luminaries like William Shakespeare and Florence Nightingale. Artworks by Rubens and Van Dyck among others, including the largest painting in England which escaped the Great Fire of London having been brought to Wilton just a few years before 1666.

Only went into the gardens of Wilton House. The adventure playground was great and accommodates all ages. Our Grandson is only 3.5 so his 73 year old Grandad went with him. It is a lovely garden to visit, can sit by the river and there is a vast 'lawn to play games. Take chairs (older generation) and picnic/drinks as food is expensive. Our entry was free for all 4 as we are members of Historic Houses. The day was helped by having lovely weather. I shall return to visit House and sit in the garden by the river.
