Royal Buses - Saint Ives

I had an awful experience using this this bus service last week from St Ives. Far too many people were crammed onto the bus, and there were prams blocking the aisle as well as people. I had to get off and walk. I appreciate that the bus driver was trying to be helpful by getting everyone on, but it was dangerous and definitely in breach of health and safety regulations.

Just returned from hols at St Ives. My husband is disabled and uses a mobility scooter. Royal Buses and their staff absolutely made our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble, getting the ramp out to accommodate his scooter. All the drivers and staff went out of their way to help and all with a smile on their face. I would like to thank everyone at Royal Buses. I would highly recommend them,and will be back for more very soon. So watch out Royal Buses and thank you very much.

Been to St Ives today in Cornwall and used the leisure centre park and ride. Operated by Royal buses. THE RED ONES. The bus going down was ok only a few passengers but the return journey was a joke, social distancing was non existent. The first bus pulled up and a queue was getting on, when it got to our turn the bus was already overcrowded and people standing. The bus driver told us we could get on, I refused and said it was too crowded I would wait for the next bus. Still the bus didn’t set off, the driver was calling people and saying she still had 5 spaces, to my amazement people kept getting on, the bus pulled away and the next one pulled in a few minutes later, we were at the front of the queue so got on, this driver did the same although people were standing he still kept saying there was room for more and they kept getting on. I asked the driver if social distancing was over now and expressed my concerns. To top it off he told everyone to pay when they got off which just added to everybody being huddled together waiting to pay. There was absolutely no need for this behaviour the buses come every few minutes so why was it necessary to keep piling people on. Funny how a year ago the Cornish were hanging signs from bridges telling tourists they weren’t welcome and to go home. They don’t seem to be that worried about there only hospital getting over run to me and right before the G7 summit is due to take place there.

Excellent bus service to the Eden Project - very efficient and friendly staff, they've been lovely to deal with! Would definitely use again.

Excellent service with very friendly drivers. This made our visit to St Ives a whole lot easier as we could park our car at the top of the hill out of the busy town and jump on the bus to the centre.

And as a bonus with our return ticket we got 10% off at the lovely cafe over the road when we got back to the car.

Bad service at St Ives. Royal Buses posters and website states they run every 10 mins "or less".... But after waiting 30 mins for the return leg without a bus we phoned the company. They state "if it's busy at the top it might be longer, other companies take up all the room". Seems like a racket designed to get you to pay one company at the top for a return journey, and then a different company at the bottom to get back up. Assume all companies in it together to con people out of more money. In any case, the 10 mins or less line is a lie. Thanks a bunch.

Passengers with NO MASKS on Shuttle Bus from carpark to beach at St Ives. ILLEGAL and irresponsible. You could sell these (proceeds to NHS?)
