It was our first time kayaking; the weather was gloomy but we still had an amazing experience! One of the boats flipped over so two of my friends fell in the sea🤣 but Ian was the superman of the day and was quick to rescue my friends and made sure they got back on their kayak! He did it in a matter of seconds even though he was quite far from them like 3 meters away ? He was like a merman 🧜‍♂️ so fast 💨 . Overall, amazing experience and interesting stories about the Cornish coastline.

Nothing short of fantastic. This will make your holiday. Ian was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. All equipment was supplied and he photographed it all and send the images as part of the experience. If you don't do this then you'll miss out

Highlight of our Cornish Holiday! If you fancy venturing out on the water but need a helping hand Vertical Blue would be perfect for you. Ian expertly led our group on a 2 hour kayaking adventure out of Porthoustock. We saw seals, went in and out of rock formations, saw The Manacles, stopped on secret beaches (inc a SSSI), we saw the lighthouse from Fragile rock and handled some jellyfish. Ian was friendly, highly knowledgeable and totally in control. It was perfect for my family and helped build up our collective confidence. We took 2 double kayaks; one for me and my 6-year old and another for my teenage daughters. Kayaks, buoyancy aids and wetsuits all provided. I'd love to have another go perhaps out of Porthleven itself next time. Thank you Vertical Blue!

If there was any way to give more than five stars we would! Ian/Vertical Blue were brilliant and totally lived up to the reviews on here. We went to try our first experience of kayaking with two nervous children, from the moment we arrived Ian was brilliant. Both our children said he was an excellent teacher and really helped to put them at ease.

From start to finish this was a great experience, so good that we went again the next day!

Ian is well stocked with equipment to hire for novices like us.

The children fully recommend the waffles at the cafe too!

We had an amazing time kayaking for my partners birthday. We felt very safe with Ian and he was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the local area. We will definitely be back next year!

My family enjoyed a great morning kayak out (1 double and 2 single kayaks) along the coast. The trip was great fun, made better by lovely weather, and really informative too... we all agreed we'd love to go again. Thanks so much Ian and team. See you soon 🙂

First time kayaking but definately won’t be the last! Ian was such a great host and teacher. The reviews on here just scratch the surface; Ian really does make it interesting and his wealth of knowledge really shines, not just vast local knowledge but world knowledge! It’s clear he’s a well travelled man! You can ask him pretty much any question (and I did!) and he’ll know the answer! If you have any anxieties, (and I did! But my worries were unfounded; there were NO sharks!) Ian will put you at ease! I had such a fun day I can’t recommend it enough! We even managed lunch on a private beach, only accessible by sea, got up close and inside a pirates stashing cave and even squeezed in a little sprint race, which I lost (even with a head start!). So to conclude; outstanding, amazing and a fantastic way to spend some quality time on your holiday! Thanks Ian, keep up the great work and see you again next time but this time i’ll bring the wife and kids too!

A brilliant kayaking experience in proper sea kayaks. We were in a small group with another couple, an ideal size. The sea was rough but Ian knew a great stretch on the east of The Lizard which was sheltered. We were expertly guided through some narrow rock pool sections, which great fun. Ian gave an interesting commentary about the history and geology of the coastline. On the return leg he also managed to find a spiny starfish and spider crab for us get a close look at. Friendly and well organised, I can't recommend Ian at Vertical Blue highly enough.
