Brilliant trip this morning. Mel was really friendly when we booked. Simon our skipper was great and so determined for us to find some mackerel. Fantastic and patient with the kids, and he even took a detour to some dolphins that were playing near another boat. Can't wait for our fish supper this evening!

Awesome 1.5 hour mackerel fishing experience. Simon was a great guide—very fun and clearly very experienced. Between 6 of us on the boat we caught 17 mackerels which we took home with us and cooked. Great value for £30 per person!

If you're in St Ives and looking for a boat trip, I would recommend choosing these guys. We had a lovely trip out to seal island this morning. We went out on a calm day so the sea was fairly still, meaning plenty of opportunity to take photos.
We bought our tickets from a very friendly lady near the lifeboat station, but you can book online. She pointed us in the direction of the 'transfer' boat and advised us that we'd get wet feet on our return due to the tide.
We were only on the transfer boat for a couple of minutes before it pulled along side the Seahorse. It's very easy getting from one boat to the other and I very much doubt you could fall in the sea.
We had a friendly captain who had lots of knowledge of the area and the seals. We spent quite a while watching the seals (compared to the other boats around us that didn't seem to stay as long). We came back to shore at low tide so our transfer boat could not get all the way back to the sand without beaching, which basically means you need to take your shoes off and walk the last bit in the shallow water. Overall a lovely boat trip and would definitely recommend

Served by Mel on the main harbour (The Wharf). Really welcoming and answered all our queries also helped us with arranging taxis to get to our coach parking. 12 of us booked a trip out to Seal Island. Overall our experience was great.

Definitely worth while excursion. Couple of snippets attached so enjoy.

There are loads of other vendors on the coast offering similar excursions which seem overly eager. Mel was calm and collected and really helpful.

An excellent hour spent aboard the Seahorse. Booking the tickets was easy, we booked ours online. Great communication by the team throughout our experience. All involved were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable experience for the whole family including our dog, who enjoyed seeing the seals as much as we did. We would repeat again if back in St Ives in the future.

If you're in St Ives and want a safe, professional boat experience; book onto a Seahorse Boat trip! You won't regret it!
From booking with the lady on the waterfront, to when we returned to the jetty, the experience was positive from start to finish.
We were all given life jackets and shown the correct way to wear them.
Oscar who was the skipper of the transfer boat was helpful, assisting those that needed help getting onto the boat. Both Oscar and Simon (captain/skipper of Seahorse), worked well together as a team to transfer people from the tender to Seahorse.
Simon went through safety procedures before we "set sail."
We had booked on to the "Seal Island" trip.
During the journey to get there Simon gave us local information about our area.
When we got close to seal island Simon "reversed" so we had a great view of the lighthouse and seals. There were loads!
Simon offered to take group photos of those who wanted them. He then gave us the history of the lighthouse and talked about the wildlife. Simon was very informative and open to any questions. (We also shared our knowledge of "bottling" with him!)
It was great to see the seals upclose. The trip wasn't rushed. We took a slow speed trip around the island before Simon started the journey back.
We were greeted and transferred back onto the tender and Oscar helped those that needed it onto the jetty.

The previous day we'd done a "Wildlife Safari" boat trip in Padstow. Both my girls and I agree that the Seahorse Boat trip was the one we enjoyed more....and it was so much cheaper too! Simon made the trip.

Next time we're down we will definitely book on to another trip with Seahorse. Thank you Simon and Oscar for helping us to create some great holiday memories.
