My wife and I joined Paul in early October for his Cornwall walking tour. We would definitely recommend it. Paul was an excellent guide/tour coordinator/chief cook and bottle washer. He’s organized, flexible, knowledgeable, and an all round swell guy. He had a good feel for the group’s interests and capabilities and catered for both. Cornwall lived up to its billing and was fabulous. Even the weather cooperated. We plan on touring with Paul again as we enjoyed it so much.

This year’s walk on the Isles of Scilly was my eighth walk with Paul and my group of friends whom I’ve met thanks to Walk it Cornwall. Needless to say I love it and I can’t imagine not walking with Paul or choosing another guide.

September 2024 was my first walkitcornwall experience which took place on the Isles Of Scilly; somewhere I'd always wanted to visit but until retirement this year, had never really found the time.

Paul's guiding experience, his knowledge of landmarks, flora and fauna, storytelling, humour, flexibility and above all his appreciation of the natural surroundings made the week unforgettable. He's not a bad musician, neither! 😉

Having worked in the tourist industry for almost 50 years, I love the tranquility nature offers and enjoy spending time in its peace, together with its raw wildness.
Walkitcornwall provided the opportunity to experience this with a group of like-minded people and I look forward to walking with Paul again on another walkitcornwall holiday.

A typical scene from our Cornwall holiday: It's raining, and raindrops are streaking down the window as we sit at the breakfast table in our B&B in Falmouth. Fortunately, Paul will be picking us up shortly to take us to a location in Cornwall with the best chance of good weather. Sure enough, by lunchtime, we are enjoying the first rays of sunshine, a carefully prepared packed lunch from Paul, and a scenic view.
During our walk, Paul introduces us to the distinctive call of the Cornish chough and explains the significance of the Cornish path and the region's mining history. After completing the walk, we return to the starting point, where Paul offers us tea and a chocolate bar from a small kiosk in the back of his car. We end the day with dinner at a recommended local restaurant with a big, satisfied smile in our face.

Had a wonderful fun week on the Scilly isles.
From arriving on St Marys to arriving back in Penzance Paul was there for our every need.
Plenty of information about all the islands and sea ,ship wrecks ,rock formations and their names , plus plant identification.
Best coffee ,ice cream, pub stops. Plus a bit of piano playing .
Views amazing, always had a good one for lunch did not want to move.
Food was good , sandwiches daily plus buffet of snacks / fruit to take for the day.
Evening meals at Mincarlo lovely. Many restaurants and take aways in Hugh Town , some needed booking in advance.
Would highly recommend Walk it Cornwall if you have not been to the Scilly Isles before good way to see them, or if you have been its a different way to see them.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "“Its the not the destination, it’s the journey.” And so was the walking tour of Dartmoor Park -- the tour owner/operator, Paul Simmons, is lovingly passionate about this unique and irreplaceable area. His walks bring you not only to a marvelously beautiful landscape, but he shares a depth of knowledge about geology, ecology, and history that dazzles and brings an unexpected depth to the entire experience. Oh, and the food (hand-packed lunches and tasty pub-based dinners) was wonderful, as was the almost-like-home B&B that served as our base of operations. Amazing. Magical. Go!!

I can’t imagine walking with anyone else!

This year on Dartmoor was the sixth time I walked with Paul. I started out not knowing anyone or anything about the trails in Cornwall and on Dartmoor. After my first trip with Paul, I was addicted. Year after year I have come back to walk with him and now I have a group of walking friends who will only book with Paul. He treats everyone like a family member taking interest in all his clients and their welfare, taking every measure possible to ensure that the trip is perfect for everyone. There is no detail overlooked.

I looked at other offerings for guided walks in Cornwall, but settled on walkitcornwall - twice, in fact - because of Paul's wide-ranging knowledge of both Cornwall and Dartmoor, as well as the smaller group sizes. We really appreciated Paul's approach to ensuring we had the best possible experience. He adjusts the itinerary with agility and care when required to locate the best weather for a day's walk. And we really enjoyed the lunches he prepares!
