We’re just back from our Costa Rica holiday arranged by Steven at Rickshaw. We’re a family of 4 with children aged 12 and 14. I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work and expert knowledge planning the most amazing holiday ever and all the great guidance and advice along the way to help us get the most out of our travels. It really has been amazing and we’ve all loved every bit of it. The finalised itinerary was perfect and took us to the most stunning and fascinating places across Costa Rica. The activities/experiences which you arranged were mind blowing and the hotels have been perfect (all really lovely rooms, facilities, great locations and all authentically Costa Rican too). All the travelling arrangements have been absolutely seamless and took all the worries away about getting around. The balance of free time has allowed us to customise our holiday even further with additional activities and also have a great relax in the most beautiful surroundings.
No idea where we’ll go next but I’m sure we’ll be in touch again in the future. I can highly recommend this amazing company and wouldn’t hesitate to book more adventures with them again in the future.

I booked a tour of Vietnam and Cambodia through them (and they were kind enough to split my flights on return so I could stop over in Singapore for a couple of days).

Honestly, I have no complaints about them, their helpfulness, communications or support.the local agency in vietn (Asian trails) was also fantastic. I visited Hanoi, Hoi An, got to make a bamboo souvenir, ho chi Minh city (a tour on a vespa for food and drinks which honestly was amazing and I wish I'd been able to do it in more cities) and then 3 days along the Mekong Delta with Leo which was amazing.

Mother Cambodia leg was great, but in comparison a little sloppier (although arguably the hotels were far more luxurious). But the opportunity to not have to worry about connections, flights, getting from the airport and just the highlights was amazing.

This trip had originally been planned for pre covid and I was going to organise it all, but ended up going 2023 and on my own so to have someone that has organised everything and will do it to what you want is amazing!

I'm already looking at them for other tours!

We went with Rickshaw Travel for a 1 week tour of Costa Rica (definitely not enough time!). Overall, the trip was amazing in terms of the places we visited, animals we saw and the culture we experienced. We went to Tortugero, Cahuita and La Fortuna. Suizo Loco Lodge in Cahuita was fantastic and we can highly recommend. We loved Costa Rica and we would happily go back!

We've given Rickshaw Travel three stars because although they did a good job organising the trip and we had no issues, we felt we were let down by the following:-

1. We spent almost 2 days travelling between places because we had to pick up other groups along the way, change buses etc. This was not communicated to us (we were told what time we leave but not journey time) in the itinerary so this should have been more clearly indicated. If we had known we would lose 1-2 days of our trip just on buses then we would have adjusted the itinerary to only do 2 places. We felt Rickshaw Travel could have advised us better on this and we could have had a much better trip in the short time we had. Looking back, we probably only would have done Cahuita and La Fortuna and perhaps organised our own transport between the two areas which would have been so much faster.

2. Hotel Monte Real in La Fortuna - this hotel was awful. Right by the road so very noisy, room basic and the hotel itself dated and tired. There are much nicer places to stay in La Fortuna especially up towards to the volcano so we were unhappy with this hotel when there so many others that were much better

Have used Rickshaw travel twice for holidays. First one was a holiday to Thailand which was varied and included Bangkok, islands and beach accommodation, a visit to Katchamburi area including train trips, floating hotels on the river and a visit to bridge over the river kwai. We had a great holiday, the only downside which my wife found was that Rickshaw paired us up with a German family, so all our traveling and trips for the first part of the holiday was with this family (To be honest i'v kept in touch with the husband who was a nice guy). We probably would have preferred our own time though, but i suppose this is what you get if you want a toured holiday. The next Rickshaw Travel holiday was with my brother and 3 friends and a trip to Vietnam & Cambodia, a cultural trip that took in Hanoi and Halong bay with a night on a junk boat, A Vespa tour round ho chi min city(Saigon) which was awesome, war museums, 3 days travelling the Mekong Delta with stop overs and a trip to Cambodia, the pol pot prison and killing fields in Phnom Penn, Angkor Wat temples and a home stay in a fishing village. This trip was probably the best ever trip iv had. So yeh the trips are well organized, with pick up points at airports and hotels spot on. So you can book with confidence and I will definitely use again.

Very friendly, enthusiastic staff. Not quite 5 stars as I had to phone to follow up emails that did not receive a quick response and I'm not really sure the various agents I spoke too conveyed to each other the actual requirements/wishes we had of a wildlife centred holiday and our dislike of standard city/beach resorts. Partly my fault as I should have research the package they were putting together more thoroughly instead of accepting their professional judgement.
We did have a great holiday and the interesting choices the agents made gave variety.
