All Points East were my choice for my first long haul Asian tour (Overland Cambodia), having decided it was long past time to visit Angkor Wat (which had been on my bucket list for many years!). Lesley and Mel did a first rate job of arranging my flights and accommodation and I felt confident in the knowledge that my holiday was being dealt with by a very professional and dedicated family run company. Any queries I had were always dealt with quickly and with just the right touch of friendly efficiency.

Both my journey out and back went without any hitch whatsoever and given the stress of travelling for so many hours, it was wonderful to have everything run like clockwork. Although I had slight misgivings about being met at the airport and was slightly concerned that my driver would either miss me or I him, my transfer from airport to hotel fell into place perfectly.

From start to finish the tour was informative, lively and enjoyable - the tour guides were helpful and clearly committed to making sure that the group were well looked after. The tour leader Mark, a director of the company with extensive knowledge and experience of the region, oversaw the tour. His obvious interest in and love of the culture, cuisine and history of Cambodia set the seal on the holiday, ensuring that what would already have been good was first class. I have no hesitation in recommending the company and would travel with them again.

We had an excellent tour with a wonderful variety of experiences, activities, accommodation, food and wildlife - especially elephants - which made the holiday most memorable. The small group really benefitted from having the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, Nandana (who, it turned out, was Sri Lanka's top birder!) and All Points East's Mark and Lesley along with us, sharing their obvious love for all things South-East Asian. Sri Lanka 2 week tour Jan/Feb 19
What an amazing country, and a brilliant tour with a huge range of experiences – camping, trekking, wildlife safaris, UNESCO World heritage sites, a train journey through the hill country and tea plantations, plus some pool or beach time to relax or, as we did, kayak on the lagoon at Tangalle. The small group size (11 plus our brilliant guide Nandana) meant lots of variety, flexibility and spontaneity in terms of what we did, and where we ate, and we experienced it all, from upscale (but locally run) restaurants and hotels to modest roadside cafes and a (posh) tent! We were lucky to have both Mark and Lesley from All Points East on the tour, and their love and passion for what they do shines through – overall, an unforgettable experience with a wonderful group of fellow travellers. Our only problem – deciding which All Points East trip to go on next!

Just returned from Mekong Adventure Tour which was our fourth tour with All Points East and once again we had a fabulous time. The itinerary, hotels, and food were all excellent. Our guide Sone was knowledgeable and fun. Special thanks to Mark for a memorable last night, we will hopefully see you again next year. No hesitation in recommending All Points East, probably the best tour company for visiting south east Asia.

I traveled with All Points East on their Borneo: Land Below the Wind tour. I went in with high expectations and all of them were exceeded. I had a spectacular time and would highly recommend both the tour and the company.
I had a few questions before the tour so emailed the head office. I had responses from Mel and Lesley who were both wonderfully helpful and patient with my questions and seemed to really care that I had an enjoyable trip with them. This, along with the ethos of Responsible Travel, convinced me to book with them rather than another provider.
Our tour leader, Sheila, was flawless from start to finish. She was full of energy, information, advice and support throughout the whole holiday and even kept in touch afterwards checking we all got home safe and shared some photos. All the local guides that we met on the way were similarly brilliant, especially Britney at the Mari-Mari village and Kalo at the Bilit Adventure Lodge. They happily shared their knowledge and love of their country and we learnt a lot because of it.
The accommodation was extremely comfortable; I was expecting something quite rustic because of the nature of the tour but all the rooms were large, very clean, had western style bathrooms, quiet but effective air con and were happily bug free! The views and the location would have made up for any discomfort though - you can't beat waking up to a sunrise over Mount Kinabalu or having the noises of the jungle as your alarm clock.
The food in this part of the world is always delicious and Borneo is no exception. There was a wide variety of food everywhere we stayed and I can't remember a meal I didn't enjoy. The mini banquet at the Sabah Tea Plantation was particularly memorable.
The highlight of the tour for me was the second day of our stay at the Bilit Adventure Lodge. I had so many 'pinch-me' moments; seeing Orangutans in the wild, stumbling across a Pygmy Elephant feeding on the riverbank, watching a spectacular sunset from the river boat and ending the day sipping on a glass of Merlot surrounded by the noises of the jungle.
Borneo is one of the most beautiful countries I've ever seen and I can't thank All Points East enough for making my visit so easy and so unforgettable. I can't wait to book my next tour with them!
