I had a fantastic stay at Cobden View. The cottage is in a beautiful, scenic location with views of the rolling hillsides and woodland from every window. It was spotlessly clean, very well appointed, and the welcoming hosts have thought of everything you might need for a relaxing stay. Highly recommended.

This is our fourth stay at Cobden View cottage and it certainly won’t be our last – we’ve already booked again for next year.

Maggie, John and Missy are perfect hosts and are always on hand should you need anything. You are greeted with home baked scones, jam and freshly laid farm eggs.

The cottage is a real home from home with everything you need (and more). The views are spectacular and we love the fact that you are staying on a working farm.

We have noted that some reviewers have mentioned the approach road to the cottage. We have a normal hatchback car and have never had any difficulties in driving the short approach road. Just drive a little slower and take in the beautiful scenery as you go being mindful of any inquisitive sheep (it is a working farm remember).

The cottage is ideally situated in the beautiful village of Sabden. If walking is your thing then there are lots of walks direct from the cottage – there is a folder in the living room of the cottage with lots of route maps and walking books for you to read and borrow.

Outside the back of the cottage is a lovely decking area with table, chairs and bbq, the perfect place to relax on sunny evenings with a stunning view of Pendle Hill. You can even see Pendle Hill from both the fantastically equipped kitchen and living room – who needs a tv with that for a view?

Clitheroe, Dunsop Bridge, Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales are all within easy reach should you wish to venture a little further.

The cottage is also dog friendly which is a great bonus. Our Jack Russell absolutely loves staying here – this year, as we drove up to approach road to the cottage, she started to cry with excitement.

We cannot recommend Cobden View Cottage enough. We absolutely love this place – shame we have to share it.

There is a long farm track to the cottage not suitable for normal cars full of holes and one bend that you have to shut to get round. At the cottage the grass is not cut and over six in high. Entrance is via a side door as the other door is blocked by furniture and probably locked. The washing machine not working till Wednesday then not correctly. The hot water pressure is very low making washing up difficult and the shower to be poor. When we went to use the bar b cue we found it full of used nappies this area is at the back of the property and fog poo is everywhere and the grass long. This could be a nice place to stay if the track was maintained and the ramshackle farm tidied up and soom pride was taken in the place. We will never stay here again.

Rent this if you need tranquility. We walked to the nearby village Sabden. Host so welcoming and friendly with spoils of milk, cheese and butter from a local creamery.
