Nice coffee and cheese Scone.The area is lovely
and good walking/cycling paths, good & free car parks and the lovely river derwent.lots to like here and sat outside the café and watched the world go by after a walk.

More of a cafe than a heritage centre. Going in just after breakfast you don't want any food. There's a meager display of one or two artefacts and two computer screens if you can be bothered. I didn't want any food but there are tables inside and out. It should be good quality judging by the prices.

Visited today with a friend for about 2 hours. Sad to say standards have definitely gone back. The tables were not clean and were not cleaned at all during the time we were there. Crumbs, tea and coffee stains and table felt very tacky like it needed a good clean. The teapot was broken and stained. Lid could obviously not close. I gave feedback to a member of staff who said he would pass information on and they were aware of the problems with teapots.

Ordered a vegan sausage roll as advertised. They let me eat it to then tell me that they had no vegan sausage rolls and just put double meat out. Service is regularly disorganised - be careful if you have allergies.

Really nice flat white and corned beef pie. Enjoyed sitting at the cafe after a nice walk.

My wife ordered Breakfast this morning.She asked for scrambled egg instead of fried but was told by the COOK ..... NO she couldn't have this. Shocking customer service but she at least was granted a refund and left.

Friendly staff and excellent grub! Highly recommended.

Pro tip 1: the car park out front is on the tight side if you have a big car.
Pro tip 2: to get to the café, take the path around the left hand side of the building, then around the back. Whilst COVID is kicking around, the front entrance is closed and you can't get through.
