We have travelled with Martin Randall educational tours twice now. This latest trip was to Perugia, Italy for a music festival. I have only had one comparable experience in terms of the richness of the education provided by another company, and that was Regent Cruises to the Caribbean Sea, (a luxury Cruise company). I actually hate to review them as I’d love to keep them my little secret, but since they have tours all over the world and keep each booking limited to a maximal number of persons, I suppose I will share!
Here is what to expect: if you don’t mind paying for the experience, you will receive first class accommodations, teaching in a particular subject usually by distinguished university professors- similar to a mini- course, the finest cuisine of the region, upgraded wines, adequate time scheduled for yourself, an action packed adventurous day scheduled with every consideration taken into account, and well researched itineraries. Most people on the tours are from the UK, Australia, Canada and US, but on our last tour we met people from Spain and Germany as well. The tours are in English. They are all well described on the website with great detail. Fitness for travel is essential and they try hard to tell of any strenuous difficulties we may encounter on the tours. I was amazed that many of our co- travelers were in their 80’s but still able to traverse steep terrain in European villages. Most of the education is in classical art, music, architecture, and history, as well as other classic subjects such as gardens, opera, or ballet.

I recently attended one of the most exhilarating musical experiences in my life at the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective weekend in Somerset, England, sponsored by Martin Randall Travel. The Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective musicians were extraordinary and speaker, Dr. Katy Hamilton, talked about the music in ways that greatly enhanced the experience. All this, in a beautiful and comfortable setting. Wonderful!

Since we first travelled with Martin Randall in 1995 it has proved impossible to find a better cultural tour company, although we have tried! After three dozen tours, or symposia, with MRT we have stopped looking for better. The special experiences provided have made vivid memories which are never forgotten. MRT is the best way to time travel.

London Organs Day - a most enjoyable & well organised day all round by Martin Randall Travel. Visiting 4 beautiful London churches & sitting & listening to the organ being played for about 40 minutes was glorious & relaxing & calming.
