Spent a wonderful afternoon here for my birthday yesterday. Fantastic wines, delicious nibbles and lovely views. A huge thanks to Samira who greeted us on arrival, checked in on us throughout the time we were there and generally made us feel really welcome - she really made the whole experience perfect!

We enjoyed our wine tasting with Max so much that we have returned twice since our first visit. Each time, Max makes the experience more personal and enjoyable. His passion for Hencotes Vineyard and the wines it produces is evident.

After the tasting, we stayed for dinner with family, and the food and service met their exceptional high standards.

We did the wine tour as part of my adopted vine package which I received as a gift. It way exceeded my expectations, it was a misty day but the view was still amazing, Matt who talked us through our tour was brilliant, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, the wines are delicious and we enjoyed the whole experience and ambience so much that we stayed and enjoyed lunch with more wine!! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back. Thank you Hencote 👏🥂🍷👏

We have just returned from a wonderful evening at the Terrace. It was absolutely lovely. I have been visiting Hencote since it opened and it is a stunning venue with so much potential but unfortunately the service and food quality has always let it down.

However, I am so pleased to say the terrace was a triumph. The service was excellent. The food/menu was perfect for that setting. It is a very pretty winter wonderland, very apres ski / Christmassy. I would highly recommend it. We have had a wonderful family evening and hope to return with friends again soon.

Special thanks to Yuliia who was very attentive and Mark who was a fantastic host, both super friendly, informative and welcoming.

I hope this is the boost Hencote deserves and needs. With many interesting plans, I look forward to visiting again.

The main meal was very poor. The falafel was dry and dominated the whole plate as there was very little else to accompany it. For £26 I would expect something with a big more creativity, style and flavour. Pudding was absolutely huge in comparison. Myself and two friends all ordered the same thing and none of us could finish it.
Staff were nice but there was absolutely no atmosphere in the restaurant and hardly anyone there which was disappointing for a Friday evening.

However the food for the evening meal was average at best. The falafels were dry and weren’t as good as falafels from Aldi. I doubt they were made in house. The accompaniments were meagre and limited. The steak was just average and just about warm with the sauce arriving late.
For the price we were very disappointed with the standard offered. The chef needs to up their game with a bit more imagination given the setting and the price.
Service was okay but nothing special. Food was slow to arrive but luckily the company at the table was good.
