I had the pleasure of working with both instructors Kev and Jon whilst doing my open water course, both well knowledgeable and massively passionate about diving. What separates the RAID courses run by severntec compared to other dive schools is the training is completed right through from start to finish primarily on a 1 to 1 basis, 1 to 3 at most. This prioritises the attention you need to truly become a self sufficient and capable diver in the least amount of time possible.
They also run numerous trips in the UK and overseas to dive in some of the best locations around the world. In December, I’m going to Egypt to do my advanced course, which is also an option that severntec provides at a very competitive price point should you not fancy the UK’s “tropical” temperatures.
An other point worth mentioning is the friendly and inviting community that comes with severntec, it’s not difficult to make new friends and find dive buddies here, some truly great people in this community.
If you’re considering taking up diving, my advice is go for it! You won’t be disappointed 🙂

My son did his scuba diving course with Kevin, and he absolutely loved it! Kev really looked after him, and made sure he was safe.

I recently attended an event with SevernTec Diving and had an absolutely fantastic experience! Kev, the owner, went out of his way to ensure we were safe, fully informed, and having a great time. His generosity, extensive knowledge, and incredible dog ensured we had a great day!

I'm really happy to have met Kev and will definitely be attending more events with SevernTec. I look forward to diving with him again soon. By the way, the new Waters Edge dive site is pretty special! Highly recommend!

I took a sports diver training course with kev from Severntec diving, I thought that I was an ok diver but soon found out I needed to relearn my buoyancy and finning technique's, after doing that we worked hard , I finished the course and now feel confident to progress with my depths,

Highly skilled and knowledgable instructor. Did my AOW with Kev whilst on one of his regular Malta trips and really enjoyed it. He’s calm underwater which is really reassuring for me. I have already recommended him to my friends that are considering learning to dive. He’s good with his camera too, so we have plenty of holiday shots of all the cool places he showed us 🙂

Fantastic diving with Kev! Just completed my OW20 Course and it’s been amazing. Kev and Jon have been great instructors and made even the more complicated parts of diving easy to understand and enjoyable. Doesn’t just feel like you’re learning but also part of a community and I’ve met some amazing people through SevernTec over the past few months who have been super friendly and welcoming. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my diving journey so far and can’t wait to continue completing my qualifications with SevernTec, and hopefully some dive trips in Malta and Egypt too!

I went to Kevin for an xdeep wing try dive and I absolutely loved it along with the xdeep fins I tried out. He then ordered me a custom camo wing with the xdeep fins for a great price! Returned today for my fitting and couldn't be more happy with my purchase 😁 thanks alot kev for taking the extra time to make sure I was happy with and understood everything about my new wing and fins with some extra hints and tips 👌

Completed my RAID drysuit diver course with Kevin Murphy having contacted a couple of local BSAC clubs who didn't even bother to respond. Kevin was very patient, taking plenty of time to answer all my questions and acquaint me with the RAID system (having qualified OW with PADI many, many years ago). Great day completing 3 quarry dives and certification with all kit provided.
