We really enjoyed our tour, it was interesting and fun. Our guide whose name I did not get was so good with all the children on the tour and kept us adults engaged too. Was fascinating to learn more about Roman Chester such a different way to see the city.

My dad booked a private tour for my birthday, and it was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide was Sextus (he had three names but I can’t remember the other two) who was so knowledgeable and interesting. You can tell he’s really passionate about the history of Chester, and made the tour so fun. I had the best time, and would definitely recommend the Roman Tours!

Our guide explained that chester had been continually occupied for 2000 years so lots had been lost to time. Through our soldiers excellent knowledge and narrative we were able to envision a great deal. I learnt a lot and my nine year old who had been studying the Romans loved it.
Our tour ran over by around 20mins mainly due to the soldiers brilliant interaction with the children. Our soldier Attius Caler patiently answered their questions with detail and enthusiasm.
Chesters sreets are old and many are cobbled, even so I managed to keep up with the tour with my son in his disability buggy.
You will need a hat if it is sunny.

Had a really great tour this morning and we learned a lot! Was great to see another side to the city and really enjoyed the sites. Would highly recommend to learn about the Roman ways and some stuff still existing today. Thank you “ugly” for the tour and the wealth of knowledge! 😊

An excellent experience and thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The tour guides knowledge of Roman history was brilliant and as it was only my brother and myself on the tour, we were able to ask questions. The tour was so informative and feel like I learnt so much. Would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Titus showed us the Roman sights and shared his wealth of knowledge of life in Roman Chester. The tour is great for young and old. There is not a lot of walking involved. Great jokes Titus.

A must for ancient Rome enthusiasts.

Titus our tour guide or shall I say Optio leading us around Deva vitrix (Chester). Explained a lot about the army and wowed us with his thorough knowledge about the city in its ancient time; as well as Rome at that time in general, from day to day life of a legionary to medicine and monetary policy.

After, I didn't have enough time to go to the recommended pub. However, on my way to Wroxter influenced by Titus' Epicurean philosophy, I paused Seneca's stoic letters on audible and indulged in a hedonistic pleasure of grabbing a pint and food at another pub.
