Lavender Barn is a fantastic place to stay with a large group of friends / family. The accommodation is maintained to a high standard. It catered for everything we needed and more. The pool, hot tub and games room enhanced the visit. The barn is spacious, but also has a cosy vibe. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend that you come and visit! The only issue we had which was out of the control of the owners was the mobile network signal & connection. The accommodation does have WiFi which helped but could be slow. I loved the weekend my friends and I spent here - thank you to Lavender Hill Holidays.

Well it’s been a long time since we went but I’ve been trying to think about what to write to describe this wonderful place to stay!!

The whole process is very simple and smooth, from booking to checking in to the after care.

The booking process and the availability was clear and simple. The website was easy to navigate and the pictures were brilliant.

The information given before was clear and concise and the booking info was all that was required.

As for the accommodation itself it was amazing and so well presented! The location was superb for my train mad son and also for us too!! Being so close to the trains is an amazing experience!!

The welcome pack was lovely. The beds and rooms were so clean and fresh.

The hot tub was superb and ready to go and so relaxing. And finally the location was perfect!! One thing to remember is to attend Stogumber Train Station for the Cream Teas!!

I cannot emphasise how much we enjoyed our family time to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. It was such a lovely place to stay, everything was amazing. Kate and Steve had thought of every detail to make our break memorable. Very highly recommended.

We enjoyed a wonderful family holiday at Lavender Barn which provided an ideal setting for our group aged 2 – 82. The private indoor pool was fantastic. The two garden play areas were safe for the children and large enough for games and activities that kept everyone busy. The layout of the accommodation was ideal. All on one level with no uneven floors or steps to catch out the old or very young, Good sized bedrooms with lovely ensuite facilities and plenty of hot water. Large well equipped kitchen with loads of room for us all to cook and eat together. Comfy lounge. The patio area was particularly good for evenings when the younger children were in bed and the adults were able to enjoy the hot tub and bbq in complete tranquillity.
The only real issue we had was that the key safe was so awkward to access. Initially, we spent 20 minutes trying to get into the property. That was unfortunate as people were needing to use the toilet! During our weeks stay, there was always one of us around, so we didn’t have to rely on the key safe. We had a similar problem accessing the pool area . The door was very stiff.
Small issues
1. It would have been nice to have had a full length mirror somewhere in the property
2 Very well equipped kitchen EXCEPT not enough mugs. We could have done with more as we found ourselves taking dirty mugs out of the dishwasher.
3. Access to the electric plugs in the bedrooms was a little awkward . Having to get on the floor to plug in the hairdryer – socket under the dressing table – was very difficult for me.
4We stripped our beds as requested, which was no problem, but there weren’t enough laundry bags to take everything, so we left it all in a pile.
5. Beds were rather too soft for the adults. No real support.
Having said the above, we had a really wonderful time and there were so many plus points which far outweighed any of the negatives that I have mentioned. I have no hesitation in recommending this holiday site to others. It was a peaceful haven which we will remember with enormous pleasure for a very long time. Thank you.

We stayed at The Apple Treehouse.
One of my daughters has been crying because we had to leave and she wanted to stay there forever!
This felt like a true weekend break for all members of our family. For the kids the green slide was a huge hit, the mud kitchen, swings, the bed and of course the pool. For us adults we loved having coffee on the balcony watching the sunrise listening to the birds singing. For the evenings we chilled in the hot tub stargazing at night.
The local village and surrounding countryside is beautiful, and the locals were all so friendly.
The accommodation is a fantastic base as there is so much to do around here, and we definitely want to return for another holiday.

I stayed at Railway Cottage for 4 nights at the end of June as part of a group of 5 seniors.
Obviously, location is the main attraction of this holiday home. After all, it's not every day that a steam train passes your front door! That aside, we found the cottage to be well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean.
After booking you get access to a holiday guide "app" which I found invaluable. Not only does it provide all the necessary information about the cottage but also details the local attractions, including pubs and restaurants.
Would I book again?...... Most definitely!!

It's our last day in Cornflower Cottage and I am soooo sad to leave. We have had the best time here, and leave totally refreshed and probably too relaxed! Cornflower Cottage is perfect for us three (two adults and a teenager) and our dog - plenty of space to chill. The hot tub is such a treat and then we have two pool sessions a day.
We have explored the local villages, eaten some amazing food from local businesses, sat eating smoked brie in the garden, swam, gone clay pigeon shooting, watched all the local wildlife, travelled to Eden and back and ....chilled!
My husband has never liked returning to the same place for another holiday but, this time he is keen to come back (we all are!).

We (2 adults and one labrador) have just returned from a lovely week long stay at Cornflower Cottage. There is a lot to like - the super king sized bed is very comfy, the swim sessions are an obvious bonus and the welcome basket and unlimited supply of logs for the log burner are a nice addition. Overall the accommodation is very well appointed and ideal for a relaxing and private getaway.

The garden is a good size and well fenced enough for our dog although there are some lower sections which could be a concern depending on your dog. The rules indoors are no dogs on the furniture or in the bedrooms - which is fine but not made clear on the website.

Unfortunately we found the wifi extremely unreliable and spotty - we did query this and were advised all was working as expected for the rural setting which is not quite the 'great wifi' quoted on the website.
