I've just returned from a delightful textile tour to the Netherlands with ECT Travel.
The itinerary was packed! It included a walking tour of The Hague, a day at the Patchwork & Quiltdagen show in the Broodfabriek in Rijswijk, an evening workshop with Herma de Ruiter at our hotel and a trip to Amersfoort where we enjoyed a block printing workshop with Nathalie Cassee in the beautiful old Katoendrukkerij in de Volmolen and a walking tour of the town.
The whole tour was very well run, the hotel was excellent and the tour manager and local guides were all great - helpful and full of local knowledge. The patchwork show itself was great with a super variety of shops, most of them new to me, and I loved the exhibitions. Amersfoort is a new town to me and I loved it! So picturesque and historic.
But the best things about the tour were the workshops - so much fun! The chance to hang out with Herma and Nathalie, stitching and experimenting with block printing was just wonderful.
All in all this was a super trip and I've already booked my next tour!

Myself and some friends are planning a trip to Carrefour Européen du Patchwork in Alsace in Sept 2024. We contacted ECT Travel who specialise in group tours, and I cannot speak highly enough of them. Nothing has been too much trouble for them - even when Ryanair cancelled the original flight we were scheduled to travel on, ECT reorganised and rearranged our package overnight, with no fuss and at minimal additional cost to us. Our contact there is Emily and she has gone above and beyond to look after us, and is always helpful, responsive and patient. All we have to do now is sit back and enjoy our trip.
