This was our 4th or 5th visit, which we tend to take in November. The cottage is not for everybody ; we love the old world atmosphere and the open fire, and the creaky floorboards, and the low ceilings, and the sense of experiencing something quite different to the modern world. Its remote, in a small hamlet, with no phone or wifi coverage ( except Orange), and 2 hotel/restaurants within a minute walk. Ideally situated for those who want to get out and walk in every direction from the doorstep. It does show some ageing in the furniture and the fire does result in a fair amount of dust but for us its hard to beat which is why we keep coming back.

Every window has a breathtaking view. ING is spacious and furnished comfortably . The 2 sitting rooms are ideal for multi generational groups. The kitchen is well equipped and the roomy so that 2 can prep and cook for the group preparing meals without being in each others way. We saw a hare running across the adjoining field every day if our stay

Our recent cottage stay found under a search of Sally's cottages was quite a disappointment and under the standards we would expect . We have followed this company from the beginning but as it is under the umbrella of a much larger company now we would be far more careful booking with them in the future.
A review of the property was written on the format email from the main company which was sent to us but it seems not to have appeared anywhere.
Sadly it seems the specialist care that the original 'Sally' took in selecting and describing properties has been diminished.

I cannot rate this company enough. Our stay in Keswick was fab, lovely clean, comfortable home - Wainrights House on Wordsworth Street. They came to sort the smoke alarm straight away when batteries ran out.
The support we received, after our stay, has been fantastic. I accidentally had a parcel delivered to this address. They are the only company I have ever stayed with who went above and beyond to retrieve the parcel and post it to us. Josie and Kieran in the Keswick office couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Bronwen kept me up to date with what was happening. Honestly if you want first class customer service both during your stay and afterwards I can’t fault them.
Plus it’s near to all amenities in Keswick, both the town and walks from Keswick. There were 5 of us plus a dog, it was plenty spacious enough with a well equipped kitchen. Thank you

Absolutely fantastic. Loved the super easy, slick process that clearly uses the best of tech but without detracting from the friendly personal approach. Couldn't have been easier or quicker to book and you clearly have THE best properties. Honestly the best holiday rental booking process we've ever had (and we do holiday quite a lot!). Well done! Have already recommended to another friend.
