Super nice and responsive owner and drivers. We used them twice. Make sure you schedule ahead whenever possible- there is very limited taxi service throughout the lakes so they get booked. It helps to have some flexibility in your pick up times.

Davies Taxi’s or Davies Taxi…..
Must only have one car, there are literally no taxis in Keswick…. Ended up walking back to Lodore falls hotel (in the dark… 1hr 20mins)

I had an absolutely horrendous experience with this taxi service. When I first called, the woman who answered kept saying she couldn’t hear me, which is understandable—issues happen. However, when she finally could hear me, she spoke to me in an incredibly rude and dismissive tone, and then hung up on me.

When I tried calling back, she hung up as soon as she recognized my voice. Shocked by the treatment, I had a friend call instead, but she was equally rude to them too.

To make matters worse, they told us they wouldn’t be able to provide a taxi for three hours! The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was appalling.

I would strongly recommend avoiding this service—utterly unreliable and disrespectful.

Tuesday night 3rd july 24 left hanging at 23.20 outside the skidaw hotel also a disabled woman waiting.. left hanging on answerphone on numerous attempts thankfully the disabled lady.was offered a lift hopefully at least she got home OK. Thankfully I was only staying in thirlmere a short stroll away. I can always dry out. Shocking service

Davies taxis. i couldn't reply so I'll edit the message. I hadn't booked. I tried to book and rang at least half a dozen times. Each time left hanging on in a queue waiting for someone to answer except nobody ever did. Maybe it would be better if the voice message said sorry we are fully booked for this evening or closed until tomorrow morning at least people can make an alternative decision and not left in limbo

On time and friendly taxi driver. HOWEVER, a completely different experience with the man on the phone to book the taxi…he was rude, patronising and very difficult. He was condescending to us over wanting to pay with contactless when that was a perfectly viable option that the driver had no problem with.
