This was my first trip with Alpine Guides and it will not be the last.
I went on the Chile Volcanoes Ski Tour and what a fantastic, fun adventure it was. The weather and conditions were outstanding so we got to ski lot of great volcanoes.
The trip had a very carefully planned Itinerary selecting the best of what is available in the Chilean Lake District and around Corralco.
Our guide Calum was excellent: really enthusiastic, helpful, determined to provide the group the best choices / option(s) for the given day, location and group ability, he made great decisions on routes up and down, was flexible and sensitive to group preferences.
Prior to the trip, Alpine Guides carefully checked my previous experience and as a result the group was very well matched in terms of skills and ability.
Many thanks to all the team at Alpine Guides – great job!

The alpine Level 3 course was amazing, I have come away confident in the skills that are required to return to the alps and climb without a guide. Top quality guiding and coaching by guides seriously passionate about what they do. Fantastic accommodation during the course. I can’t recommend the course enough!

I recently completed the Level 2 Alpine Apprenticeship Course with Alpine Guides. The course provided an excellent way to progress my existing UK winter skills on some great summer alpine routes. An evenly matched group, in terms of skills and experience, (thanks Rich @ Alpine Guides) enabled our excellent guide Neil Johnson to tailor personal and course objectives to suit everyone.

During the week Neil ramped up the application of new and existing skills in different and gradually more challenging environments. He pushed us, taught us a lot, and gave us the benefit of his considerable experience. This was done with humour and with an eye on the practical application of skills in a safe manner.

The chalet in Chamonix was first class and the team there really looked after us. The food was great and the accommodation spotless. The communication from Alpine Guides was good and I felt informed and supported throughout. Overall, I really enjoyed the course and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alpine Guides/Neil Johnson.

I'm very happy with the whole experience! I booked the Alpine Apprenticeship Course.

Organisation, communication and information provided = all good and fast!

Kenny was an excellent guide! Friendly, calm, experienced and skilled at teaching and encouraging the group. I definitely feel more equipped and confident now than at the beginning of the week; I've learnt a lot!

Due to bad weather and then a landslide blocking access to the Saas valley, Kenny had to be creative in making new plans while ensuring our group still got to learn as much as possible, and he did that well! The experience of climbing the Aiguille du Tour was great.

The accommodation at Chalet Tissieres was good and the food was amazing with huge portions.

I really enjoyed the week and would definitely recommend Alpine Guides to others and/or book on future trips!

We had a fabulous week ski touring and off piste skiing in Chamonix during February half term. Kenny picked perfect routes and his instruction really helped my son to develop excellent technique. Nice hotel too. Thank you Rich and team!!

Just back from an incredible week with Alpine Guides on the Matterhorn trip. Kenny Grant was our IFMGA Guide for the whole week and we were joined by Mike Thomas for the 1:1 guiding on the Matterhorn. Both Guides were exceptional. During the build-up week with Kenny, he took us on some outstanding alpine classics across the Mont Blanc range, which allowed us to improve our mountaineering skills under his skilful eye to ensure we were suitably ready to tackle the Matterhorn. Kenny's guiding throughout was outstanding. The two days we had to climb the Matterhorn were amazing - standing atop of one of the most iconic mountains in the world is something I will never forget. Kenny made that possible. In terms of the accommodation, Alpine Guides use only the best quality chalets and I was super impressed by the high standards; of both the chalet itself and the food. All in all it was an incredible week and I would highly recommend Alpine Guides for anyone wishing to take part in any climbing trip to the Alps.
