My husband and I went on Safari to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I honestly can't think of any better way to celebrate! The experience we had was outstanding. Nothing was second-class. Everything was done with the eye of perfection. The guides were fun, funny, knowledgeable, inclusive, kind...I could go on and on. They made it easy to say that every penny was worth it. And they are the reason we will go back and do it all again. Gary was kind enough to surprise us with an anniversary celebration at a dinner - and it was so thoughtful. Wildlife Explorer is the only company I would recommend. Everything was excellent.

I have traveled with Wildlife Explorer twice now and can only say that each time was its own special and magical time. The entire staff at every camp treats you with respect and as a friend. They all have deep knowledge of the wildlife and geography. The food, accommodations, vehicles, and service are a true compliments to the amazing animals you encounter. They are by far and wide the best guide service I have ever used. We have had the pleasure of seeing every type of animal from gorilla to leopard, crocodile to lion, elephant to baby hyena. While most safaris to Tanzania would likely be great, going with Gary Strand, his family, and staff will make it amazing and different than most other companies. To date, I have traveled with Wildlife Explorer six times, including four safaris and excursions to Egypt and Morocco. There is something about Africa that draws you in and Gary and his amazing team know very well how to give their guests a unique and unforgettable experience.

It is a privilege to watch the animals in their natural habitat. While they are the star attraction, a safari with WLE is much more than the wildlife. Quite often, we are on game drives with no other vehicles around. The experience of driving across the Serengeti observing the ever changing landscape - verdant green scrubs, tall grasses and the occasional acacia tree as far as the eye can see is primordial. The feeling it evokes is indescribable.

Sundowners in a different location each night, followed by fun, laughter (and the occasional dance party) by the campfire under a canopy of stars sipping a glass of South African red wine is the perfect way to end an incredible day in the bush.

Your tent in WLE’s private camps are spacious and very comfortable. Hot showers, flush toilets, beautiful Moroccan carpets on the floor and, best of all, unparalleled views of the wilderness from your bed.

If you are looking to extend your stay, Gary and his team are happy to arrange a beach trip to Zanzibar for post safari R&R or to Rwanda to trek with the mountain gorillas. Both are incredible experiences not to be missed!

While these experiences are great, it is WLE’s amazing team of guides who take your safari experience to the next level. It says a lot that each of the guides has been with WLE for 15-20 years. They are knowledgeable, friendly and can spot a pride of lions in tall grasses from miles away! If you are looking for an adventure of a lifetime, I highly recommend

This is the Real McCoy in Africa...you will experience it like no one else...and, Wildlife Explorer does it better than anyone else...up close and personal...from private lodge and safari camps to gourmet food in the bush, plus a private viewing of a Pyramid in Egypt and your own luxury cruise Barge on the Nile ...not to mention a week in fascinating Morracco....and, wild animals galore in Tanzania. .. my favorite was the elephants right next to our tent munching on the grass all nite...book now and enjoy...you can thank me later!

My safari trip was a list of firsts. First time south of the equator, first time seeing the northern lights (en route to Nairobi), first time in Africa, first time seeing the Southern Cross constellation - but by far the most extraordinary thing was the experience of Safari as provided by Wildlife Explorer! The attention to detail, making me and all in our group feel so welcome, the information shared, the excellence of the guides, the food, the camps we stayed in, the lunches on the plains, so many things that were simply perfect. Thanks to W.E., the Serengeti, Olduvai Gorge, Ngorogoro Crater, and Tarangire have left their print on my heart forever.
