We booked to do the santa sleepover and stay in a festive woodland lodge. Before going i read reviews on here and went into a mild panic where i almost pulled the plug on the trip but I am so glad i didnt. We had an amazing time, yes some areas are looking a little tired and staff didnt seem to be able to answer all questions but they were lovely and helped as much as they could. The accommodation was clean and tidy and the decorations made it magical. It’s worth pointing out as well that the accommodation was actually on the light trail itself so you could watch out the window at loads of the lights. The kids loved it! The food i would probably compare to a harvester, nothing to write home about but nice, tasty and served quickly. In short please dont let the negative reviews put you off, we will definitely be going back again next year!

Please stay away and save your money to go somewhere proper/clean. ||||||Complaints email but you'll never get a [email protected] ||||Subject: Complaint ||||Here's my email I had sent over 2 weeks ago, no reply from anyone at gullivers ( they must do this to everyone, take their money an that's that)|||| Complainta Manager "Sara" gave me the email over the phone but again got reply to my emails||||||26/10/24 arrival..||||Absolute shambles!||There is not enough room on this form to list the amount of complaints regarding this stay. I have photographic evidence of the disgusting cabin, dead slugs stuck on the counter top, balls of dust, the uncleaned areas: corners of the room and under the bed. My child has Asthma and this really exacerbated his breathing. The facilities were a lot to be desired: 3 cups and 1 teaspoon, kettle and a microwave, no plates, no bowls, no cutlery, no indication of us having to bring these items ourselves on our booking. I suggest you get your housekeeping team or indeed their manager to spot check the cabin before you let paying customers in. This was really unacceptable for the cost. ||The mattress on the bed was just springs, no oomph in it at all so uncomfortable it's probably been there since the park opened, considering the cabins work out at a 5* price per night- very poor. Have you tried sleeping on these? I would really like your feedback regarding this - what is the ridge going across the middle of the bed for? ||My booking stated that we were Stay & Play but most of this was shut due to the light show being set up. None of this information was displayed on the webpage or emailed. No farm or animals, where was the meet and greet as advertised?, no dinos (unless looking through a bush counts as seeing them). This was the whole point of our stay as our son is dinosaur mad. Nothing was on your webpage stating this was happening, in fact your webpage states that book your stay and a list of what's included, incidentally including the cost of the theme park for the price, but this is 2021 for 2022 booking information so absolutely false advertisingby yourselves, as we had to pay on arrival an extra cost for the theme park, that incidently we were told was closed on a Monday by a staff member. (Pics of screenshots of your webpage are available) To add insult to injury I had to pay the £100 cost on arrival, as the booking in staff, decided to announce to everyone that we hadn't paid to enter the park and then was only given a one day pass for the 27TH Oct. (Most of the younger aged rides were closed). This was also false information as the theme park was in fact open on Monday.||The Farm restaurant was closed||The Raptor Restaurant was awful, you served our adult meals and forgot to serve our 4 year old he waited just over a hour for chicken nuggets and chips. When asking the waitress where his food was she said there was a wait time for some food items what a fantastical load of rubbish. No wonder we were told by other users to drive to mcdonalds as it was far better than what was being offered in what you call a restaurant but I can definately not describe it as that. ||The ice cream place said cash only. I offered the only cash I had and they said they didn't have change. I had to go around asking other patrons if they had any change for an ice cream. Totally unacceptable. ||There wasn't any information or staff, on entry to the theme park it looked abandoned (again photos I have of this) anyone could of strolled into this area paying or otherwise - no security, rubbish and what looked like construction materials just dumped by the entrance, not a great first impression. ||The play area comprised of 1 slide and 1 climbing frame, very poor but I suppose this was the only free extra activity, so it wasn't supposed to be an attractive place to play in.||I paid a further £50 for early check in, late check out. We unpacked on arrival and went to go to the theme park to be told it was shutting at 4 o'clock this was at 3:30pm if we had been told this when checking in we would not have unpacked and left this for later. The price also included leaving at 12, but we were moreorless told at 11am that they wanted to "clean" I will use this term very loosely, the cabin and asked "were we leaving?". We told them we were going to leave as I've mentioned previously that a staff member had told us the theme park was shut on a Monday. But as we were driving out we noticed that in fact this was open and that we should have had the opportunity to use this also. ||There wasn't many staff members to complain to at the time and the ones we did complain to fobbed us off with lame excuses. (All staff members need replacing ) ||For £469.70 for 2 nights (inc theme park and early check in) plus having to pay extra money for the rides that our son could go on, at £2 a go and the extra cost for the evening activities, it was a really disappointing short break, disgusting accomodation and food and most importantly disorganised staff. AN UP TO DATE website with information on what's happening during that week, would had given us the opportunity whether or not to book (again pics can be provided).||||I would like be compensated for this stay, if everything was up and running as I expected when initially booking this short break then I would probably have overlooked some of this complaint. ||||Never ever again, they give a terrible experience and are still happy to take everyone's money. Would love to know what the cleaners actually do cause as you'll see in my pics my cabin was disgusting.. could add more complaints but I will leave it here.. hope you enjoy the pics ||||Don't be fooled people..

We have recently returned from a 2 night stay at the resort and can honestly say it was one of the worst places I have ever been.
It was filthy dirty, very run down and staff were unhelpful.
The Raptor restaurant, if you can even call it that was terrible. The same person was responsible for cleaning tables, operating the tills, emptying the bins and cooking/serving the food. The kitchen / waiting/ cleaning staff had no protective clothing, long hair was not tied back, no hand washing was ever seen.
Breakfast was quite something, the same 2 slices of burnt toast were served to 4 separate guests until finally it went in the bin.
It took an age to get a drink due to 1 person taking all the food/drink orders.
The accommodation was beyond basic and dirty, the floors had not been cleaned in a very long time, our socks were black within a few minutes of walking on them. Bedding stained, it was dusty and there was dirt everywhere - we stayed in the "Luxurious" explorer lodge!
The park was dated with extremely long queues.
The kids disco in fact two miserable members of staff in a room with music blearing, they were more interested in their phones and made zero effort to interact or engage with any of the children.
In the end we ate out for our meals, visited other local attractions and left early.
Honestly avoid this place at all cost unless dirty rooms, filthy restaurants and a run down theme park is your choice of a good break away.

Wonderful location. Great value for money. Perfect for families. We stayed in a tipi tent. Basic, but what you need for a cheap camping break. All the lodges and houses looked really cool too. Toilets and showers basic but what you expect for camping. Really impressed. Right by the lovely lake too with lots of things for kids.

It’s a lovely settings and thought it would be a lovely treat for my two boys as it’s the youngest bday. We got a 2 bed cabin, pirate 1, we arrived in the dark as check in isn’t till 4, scrambling around looking for lights to find that it’s only a lamp, in the middle of the lodge, tried to make some drinks to find only 2 cups, 1 teaspoon,, ok I can live with that but when they wanted a drink there was only 1 cup and no glasses! It’s a lodge for 4 people. Why only 2 cups? Then it came to meal time and as it’s a self catering lodge I assumed there would be cutlery or plates. Nope! Had to call reception to which I was told I can come down and get wooden ones. No offer of plates just cutlery. Birthday cake and meal was a shambles due to not being pre warned.. just a big let down for them. |I’m currently in bed writing this as the last straw is feeling every single spring in the mattress and getting no sleep. It’s the worst place I’ve stayed for a long time. Cobwebs all over the place and the shower looks grim. Called earlier in the day to ask if I can bring a disposable bbq to be told no and then when you read the welcome packet on arrival and it says yes! Get your act together with your communications about what’s here and what you need to bring to even drink and eat. Luckily it’s 1 night because I wouldn’t have stayed another. |Normally we would opt for centre parcs and I wish we had this time. £80 a night for uncomfortable bed and no essentials. |The event that’s currently on land of lights looks amazing but I wasn’t prepared to pay an extra £15 pp to see it. |The lodge its self is really nicely done with the pirate theme and the tv was great, but a 2 seater sofa didn’t work for us as a family. No outside light and the boys fell a few times getting off the decking when we went in and out because you can’t see where it starts and ends. |This has the prospect of being lovely but let down by basics. |Oh don’t worry you have loo roll and kitchen roll t

We stayed on the “Stay, Eat, Play” package as a family of six, the children are 14, 13, 3, 3. ||You collect your wristbands from the main theme park from midday and check in at the Adventurers Village from 4pm.||Check in was really efficient and lots of information given to take away. We booked an Explorer’s Lodge “Cooks 3” which had 5 bedrooms (pleasant surprise as I thought I’d only booked a 3 bed!). Reception staff that I spoke to on all three occasions (check in, a question, check out) all really smiley and bubbly. ||You have to pre-book your table for dinner and you’re advised to do this as soon as you’ve checked in as they have limited slots. We were booked for 6.30pm.||The lodge was clean and well laid out. Five twin bedrooms, and three bathrooms - one with a shower. There was also an undercounter fridge, and a kettle in the living area. The shower did lose pressure and go freezing cold if someone flushed a toilet but perfectly useable. ||The camping ground is right next to the lodges but didn’t cause us any issues, just shut your curtains when it gets dark. ||The restaurant has six included options for adults and four included options for children. There are additional choices but you have to pay a supplement to get these - most £4.50 top up per meal. The teenagers were only entitled to kids meals (pasta, nuggets, spaghetti bolognese or sausage) but you can pay a supplement to get an adults meal which we did. The food portions weren’t particularly big except the pizza. Drinks are not included with any of the package so be aware you will pay premium prices for these (£1.95 a fruit shoot, £3.30 a soft drink, £5.50 draft beer). The restaurant staff barely interacted with customers. ||The morning breakfast was an option of a bacon or sausage bap, or cornflakes or coco pops. Again, there are no drinks included. You can pre-order a full English with an £5 pp supplement. The baps are made fresh to order. ||The village itself is lovely. Lots of activities going on that you can pay extra for, and several playgrounds and sandpits which was a huge hit with the kids. The various accommodation options are great to look at from Dinosaur themed, fairytale, beach huts, JCBs, Wild West. Make sure you take a walk around and see them! ||We would definitely stay again, but we wouldn’t book the “Eat” part of the package as we felt it was misleading. I understand a top up for a steak, but to pay £4 extra for some pepperoni on a pizza is a bit steep… and to not have a soft drink included even with the kids meals seemed crazy. There are plenty of local food places nearby that you will probably spend what you paid for the “eat” part and the top ups and drinks.

The kids loved the atmosphere and the bright lights. The cabins were cosy and warm too. However, the slats were broken on the bunk bed as was the sofa. The toilet seat was damaged too. There was a microwave and toaster, yet no plates or cutlery. All of this was the least of our problems as after ordering food from the Raptor restaurant, I was up all night as one of the kids repeatedly vomited and the others had a tummy ache. We left before check-out and won't be returning.

Stayed here as part of an over night stay 2 days at the park. Took our 3 children, 11,9 and 5, and stayed in a cabin. Was perfect for a night's stay. Just remember to bring crockery as they don't provide. They do have a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge though.
