Possibly the most awkward owners, we have ever dealt with.

Every year as a family of 18 we go away for a long weekend and have never had an issue until we met the owners of Wolfen Mill. It’s states dog friendly, however dogs are not allowed to wee/poo on the ONE lawn and have to be walked to use the toilet. (I’m not a dog whisperer and don’t know when my dog needs to go)

We were also threatened we were in jeopardy of losing our £500 deposit if the dogs bark and ‘there will be big trouble’.

Ridiculous rules with the hot tub, we were told not to use our own individual kitchens and use the main shared one.

Cameras all over the place, both inside and out so you can’t really enjoy yourself without feeling like you’re on big brother.

A family member also left a jacket at the property and tried to arrange collection, which the owner wanted £25 for my family member to get their own property back. (After we had paid over £4.2k for just 3 nights)

Would not recommend and would recommend everyone to steer clear from these money grabbers, unless you like being watched, threatened and hate having fun! Then go for it.

Lovely lovely place, out of the way so you definitely need a car in my opinion.

Area is gorgeous and the building itself is impressive. Ace outside area and a decent sized kitchen. All rooms have microwave & dishwasher, communal washing/drying facilities downstairs.

Would highly recommend ?

Well equipped apartments. Lovely lounge. Owners responsive. Hot tub a good feature. Good outdoor seating/ garden area. Very comfortable beds and good shower. I liked the doggy bath/shower in the front yard. Excellent venue for large family get togethers. Spotlessly clean. Free Netflix and Amazon prime much appreciated!

Excellent space which allows big groups to socialize together (kitchen/dining room, living space (on the top floor) garden whilst proving everyone with a smaller private space in the bedrooms and separate living spaces.

Great facilities and really beautiful location.

Very comfortable stay for a large group of friends, with everyone had their own apartment. Good for stay with kids too.
The decor needs a little bit of updating though to current 4/5 * standards.

Stayed here for nearly 2 months while our house was being rebuilt. Such a romantic and cosy place. It's a great romantic getaway and the unintrusive way of checking makes you feel relaxed and immediately at home. The owners are extremely helpful and will do everything possible to make your time there wonderful. We were sad to leave and go back home in the end!

Very nice place to stay for the weekend. As the name implies, this place is tucked away, at the bottom of a little valley. Very quiet, secluded. But easy to go places from. The flats are very well equipped (fridge, cooking station, TV with Fire stock and amazon/Netflix video). A really good find

Very isolated but an area of AONB. No phone signal. Beautiful setting. Cottage very small only tiny kitchen bathroom and bigger bedroom but no separate dining/living room. Would suggest weekend visit only as .a little claustrophobic.
