Vikki and I had a fantastic time surfing with John who made our surfing experience in challenging conditions superb. He was funny and personable.

We both had 1:1 support and John helped us learn the best techniques that (more importantly) worked best for each of us.

The staff in the shop itself were incredibly welcoming. When we were checking the address to see if we were at the right place, they greeted us warmly. The lady at the front desk went above and beyond checking we had a pleasant experience and gave directions to Scarborough's best fish and chips.

We booked a couple of days of surf lessons. John was our teacher who was very knowledgable and really made sure we knew what we were doing. All equipment supplied was excellent including warm wetsuits which you really need for the North Sea

Overall the team at Dexters are great. Would highly recommend them whether it’s for equipment or lessons.

Dexters were absolutely amazing from start to finish. I have a 6yr old daughter who has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and all the disabilities that go with it .She is completely wheelchair dependent, when people think they are all inclusive they are definitely not we have been ignored by staff ment to be there for helping people with disabilities experience new adventures. This was absolutely not the case at Dexters they were amazing, they were not put off by her disabilities at all and were only to pleased to help her have a fantastic experience.
Tilly who took Rose out on the board was absolutely fantastic with her, our daughter responded to her straight away. Tilly spent time getting our daughter used to the sea before introducing her to the board, Tilly was so gentle and kind.
Our daughter had the most amazing experience and I can't thank you enough ❤️
Please if you think your child may be to complex to experience new things, please consider letting them have a go.
But Tilly was outstanding in what she did for Rose.
Thank you so much I don't think I could ever explain what this has meant for Rose and me watching her.

My children and Mum had an absolutely amazing surfing lesson with Ellis. He was very patient, knowledgeable and hands on with his lesson.
The wetsuits were so thick that no one got cold (my 11 year old gets blue very quickly)
The price is very reasonable for the personal experience- 3 students with 1 teacher.
The staff inside the shop were really friendly and helpful.
The changing area is fairly small but has cubicles available.
Could not recommend Dexters or Ellis enough!

Went for a paddleboarding lesson and it was brilliant! Instructor was very helpful and had us doing it in no time at all. Loved it so much went back later that day for a kayaking tour and it was amazing.

Would absolutely recommend doing lessons here.

Recently visited Dexter’s with a hen party for a group surfing lesson and we had an amazing time. The instructors were brilliant and made sure we all had a lot of fun. We spent 1.5hrs in the water so great value for money.

Reasonably priced parking is available nearby on the seafront and there is a cafe right next door for refreshments.

There was 11 of us in the group with a range of ages and we all had an absolutely cracking time, highly recommend!

Went out for a 90 minute kayak trip with my family youngest 15. Absolutely loved it. Even managed to see a seal! All equipment provided. Time needed to be changed for safety reasons, plenty of notice felt very safe . Felt we were in the hands of competent instructors. Thank you
