Bourne House, Filey. Review November 2024

We have stayed at Bourne House, Filey for our annual Autumn Family holiday (3 Generations – 14 people) Since 2018, just missing 1 year for covid lockdown. So, this year was our 6th stay at Bourne House.

The reasons we have returned are the facilities combined with the location are hard to match, Something for all age groups and plenty of space.
Two large sitting rooms, plus large Conservatory, plus very popular Bar fully equipped with Draught Beer on tap, Bar, Bar stools & tables, TV & adjacent pool room with pool table, darts board & table football. Large Kitchen/Dining Room with 2 long dining tables. Very large garden with play area, and very popular hot tub.

The location is perfect, 10min walk to an amazing beach, and you can walk along the Beach or the Cliff top to Filey with all its amenities.
Also, just along the road from Bourne House in easy 5min walking distance, you have access to convenience shop, and a recently opened Weatherspoons bar and restaurant.

The Owners are local and extremely helpful, We fully recommend Bourne House.

We stayed here for a week over New Year. We were a family party of 15 with 1 dog, aged from 3 to 77. The house was perfect for us with the games room, pub and hot tub very popular with everyone.

There was also plenty of space with 2 lounges and a conservatory so if anyone just wanted some quiet time there was always somewhere to go.

The house was really comfortable and with the garden and parking area being completely enclosed it was safe for both the children and the dog to play in.

The beach itself was only 5 minutes away and so easy to walk to. We had plenty of good walks along the sand into Filey.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to book a house for a large number of people.

We stayed here for a 40th Birthday and the cottage and facilities were fantastic. We were a large group (14 adults) and there was plenty of space to spread out, but also room big enough for all of us at once. The garden is massive and the bar area was a great space to hangout, with beer on tap, a pool table and foosball table.

The owners also left us a birthday cake which looked like it was home made. It was delicious and a really nice touch.

It is within walking distance of the beach and there are several nice pubs nearby. I couldn't recommend highly enough.

A great stay for the massive family get together. Great sized rooms, limited mobility bedroom and bathroom downstairs, garden for kids, pub for adults! Everything was really good with plenty of space to be together... and apart when needed! 5 min walk to the beach, 15mins drive to Scarborough. Silly you're not allowed in local Wetherspoons though (caravan park). If EV driver, do consider where to charge as nothing overly practical locally. Would definitely return.

Bourne End House was just fantastic. The location was unbeatable, being a 5-10 minute walk to a lovely beach, it was excellent for transport links and had the advantage of being close to the facilities of Primrose Valley.
The house itself was incredibly well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The bar was an amazing space that we used every night and was enjoyed by all of the family from age 2 to 70!
It was the outdoor space that really made the holiday for us as the kids loved being on the swings or playing football/cricket/rugby.
We went on quite a few day trips to local places, which we thoroughly enjoyed but I have to say that you could easily spend the week between the house and beach and be quite content.
We did a lot of our own cooking but did have dinner at The Royal Oak in Hunmanby one night and had the best steak and ale pie we have ever had!
The communication from the owners was spot on from the beginning too, would highly recommend them.
We are very much hoping to return next year!

Great house with everything you need for a big family holiday!
There was plenty of space for our party of 13 aged from 4 to 70, and our three dogs. The beach is so close and we enjoyed lovely walks every day. The bar area kept us all entertained but there's also lots of alternative quiet space in the lounge and conservatory. The garden is huge (perfect for a game of cricket!),and well enclosed for the dogs.
Lots to do nearby as well, a highlight was the North Yorks water park nearby where we went kayakking and paddle boarding. Lots of nice food around as well and takeaways that delivered from Filey.
Owners made everything very simple from booking to check in & check out, would highly recommend!

Review updated 3rd November 2023: have just stayed at Bourne End House again, which was was our fifth annual family holiday at Bourne House and once again we’ve made many special memories with our Children and Grandchildren.
A perfect venue for families, so comfortable and welcoming, something for all ages, the bar and games area and hot tub being popular with all. Also space for everyone to find their own area if needed. We had a great karaoke night in the bar on the big screen, and log fires every evening in one
of the two lounges. The beautiful sandy beach is so close and being able to walk to Filey along the beach a bonus, even the 5yr olds walked there are back easily. The garden is huge and very dog friendly. The owners are very helpful and friendly and make you feel so welcome.
Plenty to do in the area if you want to go out and about.
We fully recommend Bourne House as a brilliant venue for large family holidays.

This was our fourth stay at Bourne End House and like all our previous stays was brilliant. Bourne End House had all the ingredients for a perfect holiday for a large family group; Bar, Pool Table, Hot tub, very spacious accommodation, very large enclosed garden. Fully recommend, intend to book again for next year.

Great house with excellent facilities, plenty of accomodation options and even a bar with games room with Sky TV's. Close to beach and nice walk over cliffs or beach into Filey.
