Beautiful scenery, great trail on the hills. We spent a day hiking, enjoying the views, and even observing the seal colony on the rocks. Routes are not obvious at places, but this has been a minor inconvenience.

Lots of useful, interesting, quality information about the coastal area between Whitby and Scarborough. Things to see and do, explanations of the landscape, its geology and how people have used it for centuries etc.
Also a decent little cafe serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and delicious ice creams.
There is a super, circular walk from here at Ravenscar to Robin Hood's Bay, using the Cleveland Way coastal path and the Cinder Track (disused railway line).

The center is small but perfectly formed. Friendly staff with good coffee and cake. The walk down to the beach is tricky but worth it for the seals. My 3.5 year-old made it down and up ok.

We walked here along the Cinder Track past the old Alum quarry. Good tearoom and plenty of space. Delicious cakes. Word of warning, quite a walk to the loos!

Staff are really friendly, huge choice of ice creams, cake and hot drinks. Secondhand books for sale/reading on the bookcase. We went around easter and did the easter trail, the kids really enjoyed it and got a easter egg at the end.

We were made very welcome and advised how not to disturb the wildlife. A great workout getting down to the coastline and back. Wear strong shoes and be independently mobile as the walkers around 1 miles each way over steep Ricky and unmade terrain. Well worth the effort.

Fairly unique remains of a Second World War radar station buildings owned by National Trust. A nice walk from Ravenscar to reach the field (about 3/4 mile along a cinder track) and worth reading the info boards by the buildings to understand the purpose of the site. Unable to enter the buildings but can walk around. Superb views out to sea and the coastline. Also a Coastguard station not owned by National Trust at the same location!

Best sea view in the area,perfect scenic path down to the beach,feels and looks like jurrasic coast from the movie ,lots of sea life around.
