An Amazing experience!
This was my first surf charter and it was even better than I imagined. I was pressured to book up by Jacob (a surf coach who works for Renegade), He wasn't actually on this particular trip but he insisted I get involved as all of the Renegade coaches are world class.
Our host John was extremely professional but absolutely hilarious at the same time. Shannon the coach was top tier also and as a double act they delivered an incredible service.
The boat is pure luxury, the AC was perfect and the food was to die for. We were treated like Royalty!!!!! I made friends I'm going to stay in touch with and just wish I could do a trip with Renegade every year. It is expensive compared to a basic charter but it is definitely worth it. You get so much more! I surfed an average of 5 hours per day in mostly empty tropical 2/4ft waves. What more can I say? The renegade crew have this trip dialed in. Book before it's sold out.

Epic trip!

I'll sound off on 6 areas that stood out to me.

Waves - we got lucky, we got a pumping swell (5'+ @ 18s) - and the Renegade team knew where to be. Plenty of spots were maxed out, but the team navigated us to the right atoll at the right time and we scored.

Weather - we were mostly blessed with great weather, but when a nasty storm blew in in the middle of the night, the Renegade team kept us safe and our trip carried on the next day as if nothing happened.

Crowd - there were other boats around, but the Renegade team zigged when everyone else zagged, allowing us to surf 75% of our sessions with just our boat.

Accommodation - Theia exceeded my expectations for what a live aboard surf trip could offer in the comfort department. The rooms were cozy and had great A/C and the boat had plenty of common space to chill.

Food - I was floored by how the kitchen crew put out such high quality food day after day. I always felt like I had plenty of nutritious food to fuel my surf sessions and the flavors were banging.

Coaching - the in-water coaching support combined with group and 1x1 video analysis and "chalk talk" helped me progress my surfing in just a few days.

Can't wait for my next Renegade trip!

Very highly reccomendable! The guide, coaching and crew on these trip is next level. 10 days Maldives was a life time experience. Nothing but eat, sleep, surf, repeat in the best way possible. I learned so much being an old guy at the bottom end of surf level 2. Great food, great international comradery, great waves, great coaching. It's a big sum of money to spent at once, but it is NOT expensive, trust me! Hesitant? Don't be, just do it. no regrets.

An unforgettable trip!
The experience with Renegade was A+ at every step from booking to pre trip call to the trip itself, the waves, the food, the people, the coaching everything was best in class.

Booking a trip like this is a big investment in terms of time away from family, cost, work and so ensuring you go for the best available option is crucial and this was definitely the best choice i could have made.

I had never had surf coaching before but it was really eye opening as to how many poor techniques we learn as we get into surfing and so having a pro like Shannon show us what we should be doing and helping us all individually regardless of ability was amazing.

The food was so good, 3 times a day you had more choice than i would ever imagine and loads of food too which you need when you are 6 hrs a day in the water.

Shout out to Reneguide Johny J who kept the vibes high, made the right calls and kept everyone well informed and most importantly stoked throughout the trip.

I spent 10 days on the Renegade Surf boats with my sister and niece in August 2024. We had an absolutely fabulous time, and it’s something we plan to make an annual trip from now on. We loved being on a boat big enough that we all had a little bit of our own space (we had sea-view cabins that were generously proportioned, with big windows on two sides). We also loved coming together with the group at meals to enjoy the delicious food and for the surf and coaching feedback sessions. Dale did an amazing job of putting us in the best, uncrowded waves every day. I was really impressed with how he forecasted and communicated with the other boat captains and with us as a group. Pepijn did a great job with coaching, both in and out of the water. He gave me some useful drills to think about now that I’m surfing back at home. All in all, one of the best surf trips we’ve ever done. Congrats to Renegade on a great and well-run business.

Empty lineups, world class coaching, and fantastic food / accommodations. The perfect trip for anyone trying to improve their surfing and go on their first boat trip.

5 stars ain’t enough to rate these surf trips!

I joined the September 24 level 2/3 trip and absolutely loved it.

As a land locked lower intermediate surfer this trip was great for pushing me out of my comfort zone in a safe environment. The coaching and guiding I received was first class, and despite being in a group of 10 there was plenty of 1-2-1 sessions which proved so helpful to help break bad habits, understand wave selection or pick up new techniques.

Renegade seem to strike a perfect balance between intense surfing/surf coaching and relaxing holiday.

I will 100% book again with Renegade as long as Simon pays a fair price (in joke ?!)

What a trip! So many fun sessions whilst getting rid of some bad surfing habits and probably had the most artistic wipeouts out of the group. Really appreciated the advice and knowledge from our coach and guide, Nic and Mark. Malik captured some unreal shots. Honestly a trip I'll remember forever. Can't wait to return next year with a group of friends from Aus!
