I took a mid-week cruise on Oxford’s College Cruiser’s smallest boat (HMS Keble). It unexpectedly snowed on the first night but KEBLE kept me warm and toasty. The bed was comfortable and the little boat was well appointed. The price was very affordable!

The team at College Cruisers was friendly and helpful. The pre-brief was excellent and prepared a novice for navigating the locks and canal system.

Highly recommend this wonderful excursion to anyone, novice or pro, and recommend College Cruiser!

We’ve just had an amazing weekend on one of the college cruises. We were a party of seven, everyone had a great time. The boat yard were really helpful and went out of their way for us. Would really recommend using college cruises, clean well maintained boats and very helpful staff. The kitchen was well equipped too, couldn’t fault anything

Great value narrowboat hire, the Oxford canal is really beautiful and the locks are easy, being just one gate. Thrupp is a lovely place to visit, the Boat pub there was the best one we went to!

My partner and I just spent a week on Magdalen. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was lovely having the log burner as it was late October. Cary’s and her team really looked after us and we can’t thank them enough for making this a wonderful week on the charming Oxfordshire canals. Good value for money and competitively priced. We had done a rekky,a month before so as not to get lost on the day.Arriving early we took advantage of the surrounding area and had lunch before our welcome and instruction,,We were the only boat going out that day,,Carys was there to greet us and explain any queries we might have had,before handing us over to James our instructor,,,Well what a great laid back ,polite,old school attitude,type chap,,,easy to get on with and he explained all we should need to know,,,We were both novices so it was daunting but with a good bit of team work things went well.
The experience was amazing to manage to steer the boat in a relatively straight line most of the time, ,the canal route has a mixture of different type of residential canalboats,,to be respected as you pass by slowly The locks became easier as we encountered them,,..plenty of canal pubs to enjoy,,The Turnpike Kiddlington green,The Trout Inn on the thames at Wolverton,,and as a last stop on the way back,The Plough also at Wolverton,,Trinity suited our needed perfectly,,with back up from the team if needed,,,lovely people we met along the way,,combined with the brilliant sunny week long weather,made this a time and trip to remember,,and may well do again sometime,,so we'll done to everyone at College Cruisers for making it so,,We will recommend to others,,,,Top man James!,,

4 of us ,plus 2 dogs have just returned from a lovely weeks holiday on board narrow boat Pembroke.
The team at the yard in Oxford showed us how to open and close locks and the basic handling of the boat .
We were very impressed with our boat,it had all we needed for a great break
The canal is very picturesque although its shallow in places and care must be taken near moored craft ..
All in all a lovely break on a very nice boat .

Really enjoyed our short holiday. The boat was in good condition and clean. It had two toilets and two showers. The shower was better than I expected on a boat and nice and warm with the engine running. The kitchen facilities were good and the beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly.

We had hired a narrowboat two years ago and this year we wanted to go on Oxford canal. We hired by College Cruisers and we are very satisfied. "Our" boat, Exeter, was perfect for two couples. On our arrival, we were met in a very polite and good way! The staff is very helpful and kind! The instruction was very good and we understood well. So we do recommend to rent from College Cruisers if you want to go on Oxford Canal.
