Toby is incredibly knowledgeable in Nottingham's Lace Market history, over a couple of hours we walked through the Lace Market area and beyond, visiting one of the old factory sites that still stands today. The architecture is amazing, and tells so much history about an industry that was once booming in Nottingham

We had a magical weekend cycling from Alstonefield to Buxton, Chatsworth and Ecton mines. Brilliant cycling, excellent company, food and the tour guides were absolutely brilliant. Learnt so much about the Whigs, local history and geology. It was very special.

Went on the Nottingham Lace walk last night. Had a great time - lovely group of people, interesting buildings and information (even though I've lived in Nottingham for nearly 40 years), fascinating insights from Toby - then finishing in the King Billy. Great night, thank you.

The Peak District Weekender was totally magical. If I could have organised my dream weekend, then this would have been it. Great cycling, wonderful company, superb accommodation and food, and fabulous talks. I learned so much and it was amazing value for money. I can't wait for the next one.

Great ride to the Clipstone Headstocks. Informative tour of the pit head New Clipstone village and Archway House. Great to be joined by the local kids on their bikes in New Clipstone. As always Toby was enthused and informative, and Anthony’s laid-back leading style made for a great atmosphere.

The Zigzag tour of the Dukeries (which finished yesterday - 27 June 2022) was only the second time in 70 years of cycling that I have cycled in a group, organised or otherwise - the first time being the Zigzag cycle tour of Long Eaton and its notable buildings of a few weeks ago. It certainly won't be the last time I decide not to cycle solo..

The Dukeries tour, a sparkling mix of lively, multi-lingual, multi-origin, multi-talented participants, entertainingly-delivered, anecdote-laden and soundly researched historical commentary from Notts Trent Senior History Lecturer Toby Ebbs (when Toby teaches, let no student nod off!), the thoroughly reliable knowledge of the cycleways, byways and footways in Sherwood Forest and contiguous wood- and heathland of cycling guru Anthony Hopwood, the delicious food prepared communally, energetically and knowledgeably in the kitchen of the splendid Edwinstowe Youth Hostel, under the gentle supervision of Bikes Love You website graphic designer Saria ...... and you can tell I could go on and on .... made this two-day event, stretching eventually to three days, one of the most memorable, enjoyable and well-organised events of many years.

If you like walking and cycling, good company, local history etc. etc. on no account fail to sign up for as many Zig Zag events as you have time for.
