Absolutely brilliant place for children. Lots for them to do inside and out. Buy ticket online to save money and it’s valid for the year. Our four year old granddaughter absolutely loved it. The only issue is that there are not enough seating areas.

Magna is set in an old steel factory, this is a fun science based activity centre where the entire family can get involved having a bit of fun whilst learning a little about the history of the place and diving into the fun of science to set those sparks of curiosity burning.

With your entrance fee, you can go to the desk at the end and have your pass turned into an annual pass at no extra cost. Which is handy if you live kind of local as they have a great park and water park outside the front of the building that you could use with this pass also.

Myself and the kids enjoyed going here and would definitely recommend it.

Took my nephews and niece, ages 11, 8 and 4 for their first visit today. They LOVED it, especially the Fire and Water zones. The 8 year old also did a LEGO computer programming event (at a small extra price) which he loved. They really enjoyed the outdoor play area too. Having the chance to return for free within a year is a good addition too.

Visited with our 19 month old and she loved it. When we walked into the main walkway which is dark with lots of lights highlighting the steelworks she gasped and said "wow mummy"!
Lots of buttons to press and handles to turn kept her entertained and she loved the scarf pipes in the air zone and water activities in the water zone. Tickets last for whole year so great value for money. Outside is a massive playground with a good range of equipment for all ages and big sand pit. Good day out for all.

Great day out for grandkids. Spent 6 hours in total splitting the four zones earth, air, fire and water with an hour in the excellent adventure playground. We now have an annual pass. Ask when you check in.

I recently visited the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham, and it was an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Housed in a former steelworks, the centre is uniquely atmospheric and offers a range of interactive exhibits that captivate both kids and adults.

The centre is divided into four main "pavilions" – Earth, Air, Fire, and Water – each dedicated to one of these elements and filled with hands-on exhibits. The Fire Pavilion, with its molten steel simulation, was a particular highlight. It gave us an impressive sense of the industrial past of Rotherham and the surrounding area. The Water Pavilion was a hit with the younger kids, especially the huge water play area where they could experiment with dams, pipes, and water jets.

For the more adventurous, there’s also the opportunity to try out aerial adventures, such as zip-lining and climbing, which add an extra level of excitement.

One of the best parts is that the exhibits are both educational and interactive, making science fun and accessible. Magna does an excellent job of blending learning with entertainment, encouraging children to explore and experiment. It was wonderful to see kids so engaged and learning through play.

However, it’s worth noting that due to the nature of the building, some areas can feel chilly, so dressing warmly is advisable. Also, parts of the centre could use some maintenance, but overall it didn't detract too much from the experience.

In summary, Magna Science Adventure Centre is a fantastic destination for a family day out. It’s educational, inspiring, and offers a glimpse into the fascinating world of science and industry. We’ll definitely be visiting again!

Really great place to visit. Bring your coat because it's cold - even in summer. It's a museum in a steel works - no windows to let the heat of the day in.
A lot to see and do. Bring a picnic for lunch in an unusual location¡!
