What an amazing place to visit. Such hidden gems amazingly decorated rooms I stepped back in history yet timeless by its own design. We had a fascinating tour guide who was incredibly passionate about what she was showing us. Definitely worth a visit.

Have been wanting to visit this Renee Mackintosh house for ages and I wasn't disappointed.
Loved the original features: glass panes and fireplaces. Interesting to be able to see the photos which were used to restore the house .
Knowledgeable guide and friendly staff.
Good value at £12.

Absolutely recommend visiting this very special, historic site. The guided tour (optional, included in the ticket price) was very informative and really brings the house, its owners, and the incredibly restored designs to life. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Ticket price is great value for money.

Excellent small museum. Beautiful house with lots to look at. Obviously if you’re interested in architecture, design and Mackintosh it’s a must. We took a tour with an excellent guide. Nice shop and cafe too. The afternoon teas looked amazing! You buy a ticket that lasts a year so you can go back for free. We will, as we pass that way several times a year. Highly recommend!

Highlight of our trip to Northampton. We thought the £10 entrance fee was very reasonable for such a wonderful attraction. Staff were welcoming and informative. The property has a better gift shop than many London galleries. The on-site Deco-themed cafe serves great quality food and drinks at competitive prices. First class.

This is a real hidden gem . Somewhere I wasn't aware of until recently and having just come back from seeing Charles rennie Mackintosh Hill house in Scotland, I was desperate to see the only English house he designed. Entrance is £10 for an adult though there is 10% discount if you are an English heritage member. There are regular tours throughout the day and if you miss one then there is a folder in each room telling you all about the design and furniture in that room. The rooms themselves are startling in their design and any CRM fan will lap this up. It is quite simply stunning and their is no hint of what is to come when you first open the front door.
There is also a gallery on site, mostly of local artists, which is interesting in itself. There is a cafe, shop and toilets on site and the volunteers are first class, very knowledgeable and friendly. This hidden gem deserves to be more widely known, it is that good.

This is the only property outside Scotland designed by the famous Charles Rennie Mackintosh. You enter via the adjoining property that houses a shop and cafe before you visit the garden and house. You also get to wear snazzy blue covers on your shoes to help protect the carpets.
There are various discounts on entry, including English Heritage.
